국문 초록

현재 한국의 신석기문화 연구자들은 한반도 내의 자체적 토기문화의 발달과정에 더 초점을 맞추고 연구를 진행하고 있는 가운데, 한국인의 기원에 관한 직접적 논의와 문제들에 대한 연구에는 많은 관심을 보이지 않고 있다. 따라서 신석기 연구자들은 주변지역과의 관계, 특히 시베리아 지역과 한반도 토기문화와의 관계 등에 대한 문제보다는 한반도 내의 신석기 토기문화의 발달과 확산 과정에 더 많은 연구노력을 기울이고 있다. 이 논문은 신석기시대와 청동기시대의 한반도 토기와 관련된 중요 이론과 문제들을 간략히 살펴보고 이 문제들의 한국인의 기원과 관련된 연관성들에 대한 논의를 통해서 한국의 신석기시대 연구 현황과 방향에 대하여 소개하고자 한다.

영문 초록

At present, while more Korean archaeologists focus on the development of an indigenous Korean pottery culture, fewer scholars are directly concerned in the discussion on the origin and formation of Korean peoples among Neolithic specialists. Instead, scholars place more emphasis on the great distance from northern cultures, especially in Siberia, and try to build up a more detailed understanding of regional Korean Neolithic cultures. This paper aims to review some theoretical issues of current Korean Neolithic and Bronze pottery studies and assess their implications for the origin of Korean ethnic identity in East Asia.
