국문 초록

전통적 목공예의 가장 큰 특징은 손에 의해 만들어 진다는 것이다. 이 手工性은 戰後 기계를 내세운 근대 산업혁명이라는 흐름 속에서도 그 脈은 꾸준히 이어져 오고 있다. 일단 전통적 목공예 기술은 無形의 자산으로써 한번 脈이 끊어지면 다시는 소중한 전통적 공예품으로 되살아나기란 불가능 한 일이다. 한국전쟁 후 경제개발이라는 산업화 정책 하에 청, 장년층의 離農과 도시 집중화 현상, 현대산업 지향과 어우러져 전통공예의 심각한 후계자 난을 발생시켜 목공예 산업은 쇠퇴의 길로 접어 들 수밖에 없었다. 이러한 한계성을 극복하고 전통 기, 예능의 기술과 기법이 전승될 수 있도록 여러 가지 제도나 전수교육 및 방법을 다각도로 모색해 보고자 하는데 논지에 의미를 두었다. 傳統木工藝는 두 가지 측면으로 재해석될 수 있는데 하나는 傳承되어 온 기술과 창의가 변질되거나 도태되지 않도록 보존가치에 비중을 둔 유ㆍ무형의 文化財的 意味를 전통의 보존과 전승에 있다고 한다면, 또 하나는 傳來되어 온 전통목칠공예문화를 바탕으로 視覺的 特質化를 시킬 수 있는 藝術과 技術의 고유한 趣向으로써 시대에 따라 생산방식과 표현기법이 달라져도 그 시각적 기호나 이미지에서 관찰될 수 있는 傳統 工藝産業으로 구분 할 수 있겠다. 한국의 「전통공예 산업진흥에 관한 법률 案」과 일본의 「전통적 공예품 산업의 진흥에 관한 법률」을 통해서 정책과 제도에 대해 살펴보았다. 국가적인 지원과 제도의 입법화를 통한 통합된 정책과 투철한 장인정신을 가진 기, 예능인을 양성하여 전통목공예의 再現性과 創造性을 조화롭게 발전시켜 전통예술과 경제 활성화에 적극 동참시켜나가기 위해서는, 전통공예의 수련과정을 체계화하고, 단계적인 교육을 위해 과학적인 교재 개발도 동시에 이루어 져야 할 것으로 본다.

영문 초록

The most characteristic of traditional wood crafts is to be made by hands. The hand-made property is handed down steadily in a flow of the Modern Industrial Revolution with machines after wars. The traditional wood crafts technology is an immaterial asset. Therefore, it is impossible to revive as a valuable traditional crafted product if its transmission is not connected with the next generation. After Korean War, an intention of modern industry got joined together with the flow of the youth and the middle-aged moving from a rural community to a city under the policy of industrialization, which caused serious difficulties in the traditional crafts’ transmission. Therefore, the wood crafts industry could not help having dwindled away. The purpose of the study was to grope various systems or transmission education and methods in various ways so that traditional function and artistic accomplishments’ technology and skill may be handed down by overcoming limits as above. The traditional wood crafts can be review in two sides. One is to place material/immaterial cultural assets’ meaning on traditional preservation and transmission so that the handed-down technology and creativity may not be deteriorated or weeded out. The other is to classify it to the traditional crafts industry that it is possible to observe its visual taste or image even if production methods and expression techniques are changed according to the times as the original fondness of arts and technology for visual characterization on the basis of the handed-down traditional wood/lacquer crafts culture. Thus, the study examined policies and systems for the traditional wood crafts through [Legislative Bill for Traditional Crafts’ Industrial Promotion] of Koreaand[TraditionalCraftedProductsIndustryPromotionAct]ofJapan. Traditional crafts’ training course should be systematized to train craftsmen and artists with a pure workmanship by integrated policies through support of the government and legislation of systems for them and so that they may have a positive participation in traditional arts and economic revitalization by developing traditional wood crafts’ reproducibility and creativity harmoniously. Also, a scientific develop of textbooks should be also realized for a phased education.
