컨벤션센터의 환경경영 영향요인과 성과인식에 관한 연구

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 환경경영의 영향요인과 성과에 초점을 두고 국내 컨벤션센터 관계자들이 지각하는 컨벤션센터의 환경경영 영향요인을 파악하고, 이들 영향요인과 성과인식과의 관계를 조사하였다. 본 연구의 표본은 컨벤션센터의 전체 직원을 대상으로 하였으며, 총 135명의 데이터를 수집하였다. 주요 연구분석은 컨벤션센터 환경경영의 영향요인과 환경경영의 성과에 대해 요인분석과 각 요인의 항목별 신뢰도 분석을 통하여 타당성과 신뢰성 조사를 하였으며, 컨벤션 센터 환경경영의 영향요인을 내부요인과 외부요인의 독립변수로 두고 기대되는 환경경영의 성과를 종속변수로 두고 다중회귀분석을 수행하였다. 그 외에도 컨벤션센터의 환경경영요인에 대한 동기요소와 제약요소로 구분해 기술통계를 분석하였으며, 동기요소에서는 기업 이미지 제고, 이해관계자의 요구, 비용절감의 순으로 환경경영의 중요한 영향요인으로 인식하고 있으며, 담당인력 부족, 세금 등 정부지원정책, 예산부족, 그리고 관련 정보와 전문성 부족을 환경경영의 제약요소로 인식하고 있는 결과를 도출하였다. 다음으로 컨벤션센터의 환경경영 영향요인을 내부요인과 외부요인으로 구분하여 성과인식과의 관계 검증을 위해 회귀분석을 수행한 결과, 내부요인과 외부향요인 모두가 재무적 성과인식에 유의한 영향을 미치는 반면, 비재무적성과에는 내부요인 중 내부적 추진동기만 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

Corporate environmental management has emerged as a worldwide phenomenon. This study aims to make an assessment of the extent of environmental awareness among employees of convention centers in Korea. More specifically, this paper examines the motives and barriers of a convention centers' environmental management and the relationships between external and internal influences of environmental management and performance. The results of a survey on 135 convention center employees revealed that although there are numerous influences that drive convention centers' environmental management, respondents perceived the importance of a market-orientated environmental strategy, such as the improvement of corporate image, more than a cost-oriented environmental strategy. Among the barriers identified for this study, external regulation was the most important factor, but internal barriers were perceived as more important than external barriers. Secondly, it was found that both internal motives and internal barriers have an impact on the financial performance. This was shown in the multi-regression analyses that tested the relationships between factors influencing convention centers' environmental management and performance. There was also found to be a significant relationship between internal motives and non-financial performance. However, external influences were perceived as important, but were not valued by the respondents. The results of this study implies that more and more convention centers have to establish an environmental management strategy and need to have more interests in the practice of environmental management to be more competitive.
