여행사의 정보화가 경영성과에 미치는 영향분석

국문 초록

우리나라는 세계 최고의 IT강국이라고 한다. 이는 개인과 정부의 정보이용 환경뿐만 아니라 기업의 정보시스템 구축이 아주 잘 이루어지고 있기 때문이다. 여행산업도 인터넷의 등장과 함께 여행자가 직접 여행정보를 수집하고, 컴퓨터 예약시스템에 접속하여 항공권과 여행상품을 구입하는 것이 일반화되어 정보시스템구축이 필수적이라 할 수 있다. 본 연구는 여행사의 정보화 조건인 경영진의 정보화 의지, 여행사의 정보화 수준, 여행사의 정보화 활용과 같은 요인들과 경영성과간의 구조적 관계를 조명하였으며, 여행사 과장급 이상 임직원이 응답한 총 235부의 설문서를 분석하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 경영진의 정보화의지는 여행사의 정보화 수준과 경영성과에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났고, 여행사의 정보화 수준은 정보화 활용수준에 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 경영진의 정보화 의지는 여행사의 회사 수준과 정보화 활용수준을 통하여 경영성과에 간접적인 영향을 주지 않았으며, 직접적인 영향을 주었다. 셋째, 경영진의 정보화의지는 여행사의 정보화 수준을 통하여 정보화 활용수준에 간접영향을 주었다. 또한 여행사의 정보화 수준은 정보화 활용수준을 통하여 경영성과에 간접영향을 주었다.

영문 초록

Management information system has spread for efficient and rational planning or controlling in the business organizations. This study investigated the relationships among top management will for information system, informatization level, information oriented activities, and performance in travel agencies. 235 questionnaires from middle and top managers of travel agencies were statistically analyzed. Top management will for information system was found positively related to informatization level and manager's performance. Informatization level was related positively to information oriented activities, but not to performance. Information oriented activities were also related positively to performance. In addition, information oriented activities mediated the positive relationships between top management will for information system and performance, and also between informatization level and performance. These results imply that information oriented activities are the most important factors to increase performance in travel agencies.
