서정주 시에 나타난 웃음의 탈근대적 의미

국문 초록

본 연구는 서정주 시에서 웃음을 유발시키는 설화적 상상력의 전개로 드러나는 전통이 그가 인식한 현실을 극복하기 위한 방법이었음을 밝히는 것에 목적을 두었다. 『질마재 神話』에 두드러지게 나타나는 웃음을 통해 살펴보았을 때 그의 시가 추구하는 삶의 방향은 근대를 초월하는 곳에 이르고 있었다. 서정주가 『질마재 神話』를 통해 제안하고 있는 삶의 양상은 세 가지 유형으로 그 모습이 드러나고 있는데 그것은 복잡하지 않은 간소한 생활의 삶과 스스로 만족할 줄 아는 삶, 그리고 마음에 여유가 있는 삶이다. 먼저, 서정주 시에 나타나는 간소한 생활은 몸과 정신의 통합과 자연과 인간의 조화를 불러온다. 이는 정신과 몸이 분리되고 자연이 정복의 대상이 되었던 근대 이성주의 사회를 간접적으로 비판하고 있는 것으로 볼 수 있다. 다음으로, 서정주 시에서 웃음은 시적 인물들이 자족하는 생동감 있는 현실에서 우러나온다. 과거의 시간과 공간에서 재래의 생활 방식으로 일구어진 민중의 일상생활이 그 배경이 되고 있다. 이러한 시에서는 경제발전에 가속도를 내며 성장한 근대 자본주의 사회가 갖고 있는 사회적 갈등과 고착된 불만족을 극복하고자하는 염원이 깃들어 있는 것을 볼 수 있다. 마지막으로, 서정주 시에서 웃음은 이야기 속 인물들을 통해 너그럽고 유연한 마음에서 일어나는 이해와 포용의 힘을 담아내고 있다. 인물들이 보이는 타인과 삶에 대한 포용력 있는 자세는 이분법적 사고가 강화된 근대적 사유 방식을 넘어서는 자리에 이른다. 이와 같은 삶의 내용이 담겨 있는 『질마재 神話』는 어떻게 살아야 하는가에 대한 물음에서 창작되어 어떻게 살아야 할지 그 방향을 제시하고 있는 것으로 여겨진다. 웃음으로 드러내는 삶의 양상은 시인이 지향하고 사유하는 의식의 동향이 되고 있다. 황폐한 근대적 삶의 가치를 간접적으로 비판하며 탈근대로 향하는 사유는 근대적 삶이 갖는 한계를 넘어 나아갈 방향을 제시해주고 있다는 의의를 갖는다.

영문 초록

This study revealed a tradition that has placed the object into the development of narrative imagination, causing laughter in the poems of Seojeongju saying he had been the way to overcome the recognized reality. When looked at through the laughter that appear prominently in 『Jilmajae myth』 way of life to pursue his poetry he was reached where transcending modernity. Seojeongju the aspects of life that are offered through the 『Jilmajae myth』 as there are three types that look revealed the life it knows how to satisfy ourselves with simple uncomplicated life life, and the life of the mind is free. First, the simple life appears at the poems of Seojeongju comes up the integration and harmony of nature and the human body and spirit. It can be seen that the mind and body to separate and indirectly criticized the social nature of the modern rationalism has been the target of conquest. Next, the laughter comes from the poems of Seojeongju lug in reality a lively poetic figures that are self-sufficient. The daily life in the camp of the people cultivate the traditional way of life in the past of time and space that has become the background. In this poetry you can see that the desire to overcome the social tension and dissatisfaction fixed in a modern capitalist society has grown into place with an acceleration in economic growth that contains feathers. Finally, from the poetry has put smiles Seojeongju put the power of understanding and engagement with the story taking place in a generous and flexible people in mind. Inclusive attitude towards other people and life figures have look-digit reaches beyond the dichotomous thinking how modern reason is strengthened. How 『Jilmajae myth』, the contents of which contained such live the creative life in question is believed to do that and suggest how to live that way. Revealing aspects of life, laughter has become a trend in the consciousness of the poet-oriented and reason. Bleak modern life, the value of indirectly criticizing Postmodern reason to have the means to provide direction to move beyond the limits of reason with modern life.
