영문 초록

This paper concentrated on identifying the antecedents of the dual commitment of employees in food service industry based on empirical study. The study generalized characteristics of the group with a high level of dual commitment based on the data collected through questionnaires survey. Through cluster analysis, the group was first classified based on the level of organizational commitment and career commitment. ANOVA(Analysis of Variance) was also utilized meaningfully to analyze of the data collected. The Differences in a set of variables which were assumed to function as antecedents of dual commitment among the segregated groups were tested in order to find the solution for the research question. The result of analysis shows that the organizational characteristics which include the perspective of the organization, and opportunities offered by the organization for the potential future growth as well as occupational characteristics are likely to perform as antecedents of the dual commitment, together with the variables of job characteristics. Also, it was identified that the higher level of dual commitment, the lower turnover intention observed in the group. However, this study imposes limitation of having a relatively small sample size.
