국문 초록

본 연구에서는 한국 통합교육 현장에 실제 적용 가능한 장애학생의 초등학교에서 중학교로의 성공적 전환을 위한 지원요소 및 실행방안을 알아보기 위하여 총 13명의 초ㆍ중학교 일반교사 및 특수교사들을 대상으로 포커스 그룹 면담을 실시하였다. 면담결과 수집된 자료는 지속적 비교분석법에 의해 분석하였고, 신뢰도 확보를 위해 연구참여자 검토를 실시하였다. 본 연구결과, 장애학생의 초등학교에서 중학교로의 성공적 전환을 위한 지원요소로 1) 학업적 지원, 2) 학교생활 지원, 3) 사회적 관계 지원, 4) 심리적 지원, 5) 환경적응 지원, 6) 가족 지원이라는 6가지 주제가 도출되었고, 전환 지원 실행을 위한 방안으로는 1) 교사의 교수능력 강화 및 교사 간 협력, 2) 또래 지원 체계의 개발, 3) 초등학교와 중학교간 교류, 4) 전환 지원 프로그램의 제공, 5) 전환 관련 부모교육 실시, 6) 교육행정기관의 지원이 제시되었다. 끝으로 본 연구결과는 한국 통합교육 현장에서 장애학생의 전환 지원 프로그램을 개발하고 실행하는데 유용한 자료가 될 수 있으며, 장애학생의 성공적 전환을 위한 방향을 정립하고 지원 체계를 구축하는 기초 자료로 활용될 수 있다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to find out key components and strategies of transition support from elementary to middle school for students with disabilities in Korea. This study suggested components for successful transition support through focus-group interview. Thirteen participants participated in focus-group interview including 7 special education teachers and 6 general education teachers who had experiences in teaching students with disabilities beyond 1 year. In-depth interviews were conducted with the participants and all interviews were recorded and transcribed for data analysis. Collected data were analyzed using constant comparative method. As a result of the analyses, six key components of transition support were identified including (1) academic support, (2) school life adjustment, (3) social relationship, (4) psychological support, (5) school environment adjustment, and (6) family support. The strategies of successful transition support were as follows: 1) improving teachers' teaching capacity and collaborations between special and general education teachers; 2) developing peer support systems; 3) implementing exchange programs between elementary and middle schools; 4) providing transition support programs; 5) parent education; and 6) administrative supports. Finally, the results of this study presented useful data which can contribute to developing and implementing a transition support system from elementary ro middle school for students with disabilities in Korea.
