박태원 소설의 수용을 통해서 본 문학장의 구조

국문 초록

이 논문은 1930년대 새롭게 등장한 박태원의 작품을 두고 벌어진 논쟁을 재구성하여 문학장의 구조 변화를 실증적으로 검토하고 있다. 박태원 소설의 수용 양상은 새롭게 등장한 문학이 문학장에서 상징투쟁의 과정을 통해 어떻게 승인되고 가치가 인정되며 자리매김되는지를 보여 준다. 당대 새롭게 등장한 반(反)리얼리즘 계열의 작품들은 기존의 주도세력인 리얼리즘 문학과 첨예한 대립구도를 통해 지속적인 갈등의 산물로 자신의 위치를 표명하게 된다. 이것을 구체적으로 보여주는 논쟁, 평론들이 문학장의 권력구도 변화를 주도하는 힘이 된다. 이 논문은, 문학장의 질서를 객관화하고 있는 부르디외의 문학예술의 사회적 생산과 관련된 이론을 1930년대 한국 문단에서 벌어진 기교주의 논쟁과 날개/천변풍경 논쟁에 적용하여 당대 한국 문단의 구조적 변화를 파악하고 있다.

영문 초록

This paper presents an empirical investigation of the structural changes in the literary field, by reconstructing the controversy over Tae-won Park’s works which appeared newly in the 1930s. The process of accepting Park’s novels shows how a new literature gets approved, appreciated, and established, through symbolic struggle in the literary field. The works of anti-realism which freshly appear in the contemporary times come to manifest their status with a product of continuing conflicts, via sharp confrontation with the existing, leading literature of realism. The discussion and criticism that reveal this confrontation in the concrete become an initiative force in changing the power structure of the literary field. This paper understands the structure change in the contemporary Korean literary world, by applying Bourdieu’s theory with regard to the social production of literary arts which objectifies the order in the literary field to the controversies on Kikyocwuuy (technicalism) and Nalgae (The Wings)/Chenpyenpungkyeng (The Riverside Landscape) that took place in the Korean literary circle in the 1930s.
