영문 초록

Due to the introduction of the five-day-work-week system and other reasons, adolescents’ leisure activities are divided into home, school and community and accordingly it is strongly necessary to connect their leisure activities to local culture. Thus, new questions related to adolescents’ leisure activities are how to promote various leisure activities systematically and how to link adolescents’ leisure activities to local culture. With these questions, the present study purposed to examine the characteristics of adolescents’ leisure activities by area and methods for efficient promotion of the activities. According to the results of survey, adolescents reduced their outdoor leisure activities at home significantly for study as they go to a higher grade. In school, on the contrary, outdoor learning activities have been expanded and diversified continuously by the government policy and demand for such activities was high in all school years. This shows that adolescents’ insufficient outdoor leisure activities can be supplemented through strengthening outdoor learning activities in school. In addition, only 30% of adolescents used cultura**l facilities for the last year and their satisfaction was not high. Major problems to be solved were the long distance to cultural facilities and lack of interesting experiential learning. On the other hand, adolescents’ outdoor leisure activities took place mainly at parks and sports fields. Places preferred for school outdoor learning activities were museums/galleries, parts, and historical/cultural resources. Thus these facilities need to be improved. Considering the characteristics of adolescents’ leisure activities, moreover, this study suggests expanding adolescents’ outdoor leisure activities and their understanding of local culture by installing cultural facilities at the central parks of localities.
