한국어 문학 교육의 실제

국문 초록

최근 한국의 대학교에 입학하는 외국인 유학생이 크게 늘고 있다. 그에 따라 각 대학교에서는 전용 과목의 개설 등을 통해 그들의 학업을 지원하고 있다. 이 논문은 대학 교양과목으로서의 문학 강의에 대한 외국인 유학생의 요구를 조사하여 분석하고 실제 수업을 통해 교육의 효과를 가늠해 보았다. 2장에서는 한국어 문학 교육에 대한 논의를 검토하고 한국어 문학 교육의 현황을 교재와 대학교에 개설된 유학생 전용 과목을 중심으로 살펴보았다. 3장에서는 학생들의 요구를 설문을 통해 파악하고 한국어 문학 교육 대상 작품의 선정 기준을 정했다. 수업 대상 한국 문학작품의 기준은 한국문학으로서의 가치, 학습자들의 한국어 능력, 외국어 교육 자료로서의 적합성, 학습자들의 흥미와 요구였다. 다음으로는 단계별에 따른 실제 수업 자료를 제시했다. 4장에서는 학기 말에 실시한 수업의 효과와 영향에 대한 조사 결과를 소개한다. 학습자들은 수업을 통해 한국문학과 한국문화에 대한 이해가 높아졌으며, 한국어 능력 특히 읽기 능력이 크게 향상되었다고 응답했다. 이러한 결과는 대학교 유학생 전용 수업으로서 한국어 문학 수업이 대학교의 교양과목으로 적합하며, 한국문학과 한국어 교육에 대한 효과가 높다는 점을 증명하여 과목 개설의 필요성을 뒷받침한다.

영문 초록

Recently, the population of the foreign students studying at University has been remarkably increased. This article researches the reality of the effectiveness of education through analyzing the foreign students’ request for Korean literature education as a part of general education. The chapter 2 presents the present state of the Korean literature education for the foreign students and the state of various institutions teaching Korean language by analyzing textbooks and researching the Korean literature courses exclusively established for the students from abroad. It is also noticed that the colleges do not open enough numbers of courses for the sake of educating the foreign students. The chapter 3 analyzes what the students studying abroad want from the course and introduces how the course can be set up in the classroom. By means of surveying the foreign students enrolling courses as the subject, this chapter explains what they are actually expecting to learn from the courses. Next, the actual teaching model in accordance with the developmental stages of students’ understanding the course is proposed. The class is, with following the general principle of Korean literature education, mainly focused on how to make the foreign students understand the works effectively. After putting the proposed teaching model into practice in the actual course, the survey result of the effectiveness and influence of actual teaching at the end of the semester is introduced in the last chapter. This survey result tells us that teaching Korean language and literature in the general education course is highly effective, and proves the necessity of opening the general courses on Korean language and literature for the foreign students.
