정전(正典) 개념의 확장을 통한 교과서 검토

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 정전 개념을 확장하여 고등학교 16종 검정 국어 교과서를 검토하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 즉, 바람직한 교재의 목록을 뜻하는 기존의 정전 개념을 ‘제재(작품), 학습 활동, 단원 구성’이라는 측면까지 확장하여, 기존의 전통적인 교과서 분석의 틀에 새롭게 적용하여 교과서를 비판적으로 검토하는 방법을 제시하는 것이다. 현대시 영역을 대상으로 하여 검토하면서, 그 확장의 원리는 우선 작품의 목록이 다양하며 열린 해석이 가능하도록 다루고 있는지, 학습 활동에서 학습 목표에 도달하기 위한 발문은 물론, 제재(작품)에 대한 정전 요건과 관련한 활동이 있는지를 살펴보게 된다. 그리고 단원 구성과 관련하여 교육과정의 내용 체계와 대단원을 유연하게 응용하여, 새로운 단원 구성으로 연결되는지를 중심으로 검토하고 있다. 정전의 문제는 기존 교과서 분석의 틀이 교육과정 반영의 충실도 측면에서만 강조되어 온 것에 대해서 학습자 중심의 다양하고 질 높은 교과서인지를 판단하는 기준으로 보완할 수 있는 성격이 강하다. 그리고 학교 현장에서 다양한 교과서를 선정할 때 세분화되어서 내려오는 배점 기준표의 예시들 중에서 무엇에 초점을 맞추어야 하는지와 관련한 한 사례를 제시할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다. 앞으로의 과제는 교사ㆍ학생 중심의 정전 요건과 정전의 다양한 해석을 위한 학습 활동 발문의 구체화 방안, 다양한 성취 기준의 항목 제시 등에 관해 연구를 진행하는 것이다.

영문 초록

This study aims to consider 16 authorized Korean language textbooks through expanding the concept Canon. Thus it proposes the way to critically examine textbooks by applying the canon, which means the desirable list of teaching materials, with expansion its concept to ‘a topic(a literary work), a learning activity, formation of a unit’ to the existing traditional frame of analyzing textbooks. Examining it within the field of modem poetry, it investigates whether the principles of expansion deal with the possibility of making the various lists of literary works and interpreting them with an open mind, and whether questions asked to achieve objectives in learning activities have to do with requirements for canonical status of the topics(literary works). In regard to formation of units, it also examines textbooks focusing on whether they are connected with forms of new milts by applying content systems and units in curriculum with composure. As the existing frame of analyzing textbooks has emphasized on fidelity of reflecting curriculum, the concept canon has supplementary nature of offering standards for deciding whether the textbook has a high quality for various student-centered learning. It is expected that this study presents a case of which standard each school focuses on among scoring standards subdivided when they select their textbook. The upcoming task is to research specific plans for teacher-centered and student-centered requirements of canon and ways of questioning about canon in learning activities canon with a variety of interpretation, and to conduct a study for suggesting items of various standards of achievement.
