국문 초록

이 연구에서는 《내러티브 탐구: 그 철학적 뿌리(Narrative Inquiry: Philosophical Roots)》번역 과정에서 관계적 존재론에 기반을 둔 협력이 어떻게 일어났는지를 자서전적 내러티브 탐구로 살펴봄으로써, 내러티브 탐구의 핵심인 관계와 협력을 가시화하고자 했다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위한 연구 퍼즐은 다음과 같다. 1. 《내러티브 탐구: 그 철학적 뿌리》 번역 과정에서 관계적 윤리에 기반을 둔 협력은 어떻게 일어났는가? 2. 《내러티브 탐구: 그 철학적 뿌리》 번역 경험은 내러티브 탐구자로서의 우리 삶을 어떻게 형성해왔는가? 이 연구의 연구자이자 참여자인 우리가 번역 작업 중 경험한 협력은 서로에 대한, 그리고 더 큰 학문공동체에 대한 책임과 헌신, 새로운 함께 되기를 위한 토대로서의 상상력, 저자들과 그 주변인물, 책 속의 이론가들과의 연결과 재연결을 통한 관계적 지식의 습득 등을 통해 이루어졌다. 그리고 이 과정에서 우리는 협력적 내러티브 탐구자-되기로서의 살아 가고자하는 이야기(stories to live by)를 구축해갔다. 이 연구의 결과는 내러티브 탐구에서 관계와 협력의 의미를 더 깊이 이해하는 데 도움이 됨으로써, 내러티브 탐구자들이 관계적 내러티브 탐구를 실천하는 데 기여할 것이다.

영문 초록

In this study, we used autobiographical narrative inquiry to explore how collaboration based on a relational ontology occurred during the translation of 《Narrative Inquiry: Philosophical Roots, in order to make visible the relationships and collaboration at the hear of narrative inquiry. The research puzzles are as follows. 1. How did collaboration based on a relational ethics occur in the process of translating《Narrative Inquiry: Philosophical Roots》? 2. How has the experience of translating 《Narrative Inquiry: Philosophical Roots》 shaped our lives as narrative inquirers? As researchers and participants in this study, the collaboration we experienced during the translation work was characterized by responsibility and commitment to each other and to the larger academic community; imagination as a foundation for new ways of a becoming; the acquisition of relational knowledge through connections and reconnections with the authors, and the theorists in the book. In this process, we constructed and reconstructed our stories to live by as becoming collaborative narrative inquirers. The findings of this study will contribute to a deeper understanding of the meaning of relationships and collaboration in narrative inquiry, and finally contribute to the practice of relational narrative inquiry by narrative inquirers.
