성폭력 전문상담사의 대리외상과 외상 후 성장 경험에 관한 내러티브 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 성폭력 전문상담사의 대리외상과 외상 후 성장에 관한 경험의 본질을 파악하기 위한 것으로, 내러티브 연구방법으로 자료를 수집하였다. 연구 참여자의 경험 상황과 맥락을 분석한 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 성폭력 전문상담사는 신체적, 심리․정서적 대리외상을 경험한 것이 구체적으로 드러났다. 피해자가 있던 사건 현장에 자신이 있는 것 같은 침투적 이미지와 이로 인해 신체적인 호흡곤란, 손 떨림, 소리 지르기와 같은 신체화 증상을 경험하였으며, 자신의 집에서도 혼자 있는 것을 무서워했고, 일상생활 유지가 어려울 정도로 무력감과 무기력, 피로감 등 정서적인 어려움을 겪었다. 공공장소에서도 안전감을 느끼지 못하고 범죄 노출에 대한 불안을 떠올리는 등 심리적 외상을 경험한 것으로 나타났다. 이외에도 피해자의 충동적인 자살생각으로 인한 두려움과 압박감 등 심리적 위기감을 경험한 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 성폭력 전문상담사가 자신에게 일어난 외상을 대리외상으로 인한 것임을 인지하지 못하고 개인 문제로 이해하여 대리외상 치유와 성장의 노력을 한 것으로 드러났다. 자신에게 일어난 대리외상을 상처로 인지하지 못하고 개인적 차원으로 접근한 상담사는 대리외상과 외상 후 성장을 통해 인간에 대한 신뢰를 재획득하고 대리외상 상처를 피해자 치료 자원으로 활용한 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과를 토대로 연구의 함의와 제언을 하였다.

영문 초록

This study is to understand the experience of vicarious trauma and posttraumatic growth of sexual violence counselors, and data are collected by narrative research methods. The results of the study that analyzed the experience situation and context of the study participants are as follows. First, it was specifically revealed that a counselor specializing in sexual violence experienced physical, psychological, and emotional vicarious trauma. She experienced a penetrating image that seemed to be confident in the scene of the victim’s incident and symptoms of physicalization such as physical dyspnea, hand tremor, and screaming. And she was afraid of being alone in his own house, and suffered emotional difficulties such as helplessness, lethargy, and fatigue to the extent that it was difficult to maintain daily life. It was found that he experienced psychological trauma, such as not feeling safe even in public places and recalling anxiety about exposure to crimes. In addition, it was found that they experienced a psychological sense of crisis, such as fear and pressure caused by the victim’s impulsive suicidal thoughts. Second, it was revealed that a sexual violence counselor did not recognize that the trauma that occurred to him was due to surrogate trauma and understood it as a personal problem and made efforts to heal and grow surrogate trauma. It was found that the counselor, who did not recognize the vicarious trauma that occurred to him as a wound and understood it at a personal level, re-acquired trust in humans through vicarious trauma and posttraumatic growth and used it as a victim treatment resource. Based on these research results, the implications and suggestions of the study were made.
