부산기후변화체험교육관을 활용한 기후변화교육이 초등학생의 기후변화에 대한 인식․지식․태도, 환경민감도, 환경태도에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 부산기후변화체험교육관을 활용한 기후교육 프로그램을 개발 및 적용하여 초등학생의 기후변화에 대한 인식․지식․태도, 환경민감도, 환경 태도에 미치는 영향에 대해 알아보고자 하였다. 연구 대상은 부산광역시 D초등학교 5학년 1개 학급의 학생 23명이다. 프로그램을 적용하기 전 기후변화에 대한 인식․지식․태도, 환경민감도, 환경태도 검사지를 이용하여 사전 검사를 실시하였다. 연구 집단에게 부산기후변화체험교육관을 활용한 기후교육 프로그램을 적용한 후 사전 검사와 동일한 검사지를 이용하여 사후 검사를 실시하고, 그 결과를 비교․분석하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 부산기후변화체험교육관을 활용한 기후 변화 교육 프로그램을 12차시 분량으로 개발하고, 적용한 결과 초등학생의 기후변화에 대한 인식․지식․태도 변화에 긍정적인 효과가 있었다. 둘째, 부산기후변화체험교육관을 활용한 기후 변화 교육 프로그램은 초등학생의 환경민감도를 향상시키는데 효과적이었다. 셋째, 부산기후변화체험교육관을 활용한 기후 변화 교육 프로그램은 초등학생의 환경태도 함양 및 실천에 긍정적인 효과가 있었다. 세부 영역별로는 구두진술영역․활동진술영역․정서영역 모두에서 유의미한 향상이 있었다. 이상의 연구 결과를 통하여 기후변화체험교육관을 활용한 기후교육은 초등학생의 기후변화에 대한 인식․지식․태도, 환경민감도, 환경태도 함양에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 학생들의 체험과 활동 위주의 기후변화교육 프로그램은 학생들이 기후변화 문제에 대해 새로운 인식과 올바른 가치관을 형성하도록 도움을 주고, 환경 보전 활동에 참여할 의지와 역량을 기르는데 긍정적인 효과를 가져왔음을 알 수 있었다. 이러한 결과에 기초하여 초등학생을 대상으로 한 체계적이고 지속적인 기후변화 교육프로그램을 개발하는 후속 연구가 더욱 활발히 이루어지길 기대한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of elementary school students perception, knowledge, attitude, environmental sensitivity and environmental attitude on climate change. The subjects of this study were 23 students from one class of 5 grade D elementary school in Busan Metropolitan City. Before applying the program, pre-tests were conducted using the perception, knowledge and attitude toward climate change, environmental sensitivity and environmental attitude test. After applying the climate education program using the Busan climate change experiential education center to the research group, the post-test was conducted using the same test site as the pre-test, and the results were compared and analyzed. The results of this study are as follows. First, the development and application of the climate change education program using the Busan Climate Change Experience Education Center in 12th grade showed positive effects on elementary school students perception, knowledge and attitude toward climate change. Second, the climate change education program using the Busan Climate Change Experience Education Center was effective in improving elementary school students environmental sensitivity. Third, the climate change education program using the Busan Climate Change Experience Education Center had a positive effect on cultivating and practicing environmental attitudes of elementary school students. There was a significant improvement in verbal statements, activity statements, and emotion domains by subdivision. These results suggest that climate education using climate change experiential education center positively affects elementary school students awareness, knowledge, attitude, environmental sensitivity, and environmental attitude toward climate change. Therefore, it was found that students experience, practice, and activity-oriented education programs had a positive effect in helping to form new perceptions and correct values about climate change problems and to raise the will and ability to participate in environmental conservation activities. Based on these results, I hope that further research will be conducted to develop systematic and sustainable climate change education programs for elementary school students.
