융복합교육에서 미술의 역할과 특성: 교사 FGI를 중심으로

국문 초록

본 연구는 다양한 융합의 담론 속에서 타 교과와의 관계 속에서 구별되는 미술의 역할과 특 성을 중심으로 융복합 교육에서 미술교육의 역할을 탐구하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 창의성과 상상력의 학습을 돕는 사고의 도구로서 미술의 특성을 다양한 문헌을 통하여 고찰하였다. 또 한 이러한 요소들이 교사들의 경험과 언어 속에서 어떻게 서술되고 사용되는가를 파악하기 위하여 융복합교육에 경험이 있는 초·중등 교사로 구성된 집단 심층 면담을 실시하였다. 연구 결과 융복합교육을 가능하게 하는 핵심 요소로 시각적 사고와 연결 고리라는 주제가 도출되 었으며, 이는 다양한 문헌에서 언급되는 창의적 사고 도구로서 미술의 특성과 연관되어 있음 을 알 수 있었다. 이와 같은 연구 결과를 통하여 융복합교육을 실천함에 있어 상이한 교과 교사들 간에 소통할 수 있는 미술에 관한 이해와 언어를 제공하고자 하였다. 이는 융복합교 육이 현장에서 실행됨에 있어 미술이 보다 가치 있는 사고의 도구로 활용될 수 있도록 하는 기초가 될 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

In consideration of a range of existing discourses in regard to convergence education, this research attempted to investigate the role and characteristics of art education that would distinguish art in relation with other subject matters. First, the literature review was to clarify the characteristics of art as the thinking tool that could assist creativity and imaginative learning. To connect the conceptual discussion with the field, Focus Group Interviews that consisted of elementary and secondary teachers were conducted and analysed. As the result, the theme of ‘visual tool’ and ‘chain link’ was generated. The result manifested that the teachers’ description of what they would expect from art in convergence education reflected the creative thinking tools that various literature had proposed. This research would provide the understanding and communicative language that could facilitate the discussions between art teachers and teachers of other subject matters. In addition, it was intended to lay the ground in which art could be used a valuable thinking tool in practicing convergence education in schools.
