미술교육현장에 기초한 역량 개념 탐색: 질적 연구 방법을 중심으로

국문 초록

본 연구는 통계나 전문가 분석을 통해 이상적인 역량요소를 도출했던 기존의 역량연구에서 벗어나 질적 연구방법으로 미술교육현장에서 역량의 속성을 탐구하고자 하였다. 지식과 실재 는 맥락에 따라 달라질 수 있다는 구성주의적 관점과 자료화된 미술교육현장을 연구자의 시 각으로 해석한 해석주의적 관점을 토대로 연구가 진행되었다. 자료 수집 및 분석은 연구 참 여자를 대상으로 실시된 개별 면담, 수업 관찰, 서신교환을 통해 이루어졌다. 그 결과 도출된 역량요소는 교육의 보편적 특성을 지니는 동시에 미술과 고유의 특성이 있으며, 미술교사의 교육철학, 미술의 본질적 목표, 미술교육을 바라보는 사회적 인식, 학생의 태도가 반영되어 있었다. 전문가 토론(FGI)을 통해 ‘성취감’, ‘성의’, ‘참신함’, ‘일상화’의 핵심역량을 중심으로 역량요소를 분석하였다. 역량은 맥락성, 상대적 위계성, 유기적 연계성과 같은 속성을 띄고 있음을 발견하였다. 이러한 특징을 종합하여 3차원 입체 역량모형으로 나타낼 수 있었다. 본 연구는 현장과 이론의 간극을 줄이기 위해 미술교육현장에 대한 심층적, 총체적 이해를 바탕 으로 역량을 개념화 하였다. 본 연구를 통해 역량에 대한 시각을 확장하고 다양한 맥락의 현 장중심 역량연구의 기초 자료를 제공하는 데 조금이나마 기여하기를 바란다.

영문 초록

The paper has been tried to find out the attribute of competence in art education by the qualitative approach. In order to explore the essence of competence in real experience, the paper investigates the qualitative approach in art education with constructivism and interpretive paradigm as methodological position in research. Data has been collected and interpreted in-depth interviews, participant observations, and a document analysis. As a result, core competencies-centric of ‘Accomplishment’, ‘Sincerity’, ‘Novelty’ and ‘Routineness’ has drawn by FGI(Focus Group Interviewing). The elements of competence reflect universality and particularity, the essential goal of art, social identity, and student’s attitude in art education. Analyzing elements based on understanding the phenomenon of art education in school, competence’s attributes have determined as contextuality, organic connectivity, relative hierarchy. These attributes are visualized as a three-dimensional model. The paper has implicated for competence research based on the in-depth general understanding of art education. Therefore, I believe changing the vision of value in competence and focusing on the field research can narrow the gap of theory and practice.
