문화융성 시대를 위한 예술강사 제도 고찰

국문 초록

개개인의 행복을 위한 문화융성 시대를 구현하기 위해서는 문화예술교육의 활성화가 필요하 다는 것은 주지의 사실이다. 따라서 본 연구는 해외 학교 예술강사 지원사업을 연구하여 문 화예술교육사 제도를 정착하는 방향을 제시하여 국내 문화예술교육활동의 활성화에 기여하고 자 한다. 국내 예술강사 지원사업과 문화예술교육사 제도의 시행에 있어서 미국, 영국, 프랑 스, 일본 등 해외 예술강사의 사례를 고찰하고 그 시사점을 도출하는 것은 우리나라 예술강 사제도의 발전에 기여할 수 있을 것이라는 전제하에, 본 연구는 예술통합교육과 해외사례, 해 외 예술가의 활동 및 분류체계, 예술강사의 정체성 및 역할을 다룬다. 이러한 기초연구는 예 술강사 지원사업과 자격제도가 정착되기 위하여 그들을 위한 양성과 교육과정에서 예술통합 교육(arts integrated education)을 실현할 수 있도록 보완할 것을 제안하였다. 또한, 전통문화 예술의 장르와 첨단예술까지 아우르는 다양한 예술 분야를 재고하여 문화예술교육 활동의 분 류체계가 개선될 수 있는 구체적 방안을 논의하였다. 이 같은 논의는 국내의 예술강사와 문 화예술교육사에 대한 명확한 역할을 규명하고 전문예술가로서의 전문성을 바탕으로 학교교사 와의 파트너십을 통해 질 높은 교육이 실현됨이 바탕이 되어 교육당사자들의 긴밀한 협력과 이해를 바탕으로 실천될 수 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to find a direction for a teaching artist program and arts & culture instructor system, intended to enrich arts and culture in Korea. Teaching Artists in Schools is aimed to enhance arts and culture education at schools by making subjects more rich and diverse. Arts educators of various fields are dispatched to elementary, middle and high schools across the country to teach arts and culture. In 2012, 4,263 arts educators from 8 areas participated in arts and culture education nationwide. Despite of these quantitative growth, there are many problems remain. This article analyzes the teaching artist cases of United States, United Kingdom, Japan, France, Canada and Finland to find a direction for Korea National Certificate of Arts & Culture Education Instructor system and Teaching Artists in Schools. In the conclusion, three meaningful implications for Korean art education are suggested: First, Since the availability of teaching artists to schools and classrooms has contributed to arts integration in the U.S., it can also be considered a possibility of the art integrated education by teaching artists in Korea education field as well. Second, the classification of art genre should be reconsidered so as to reinforces traditional-cultural art and embraces diverse artistic professionalism on art and cultural area. Finally, The teaching artists role and its identification should be clearly defined for the system in Korea. Especially, school teachers and teaching artists partnership for co-teaching is needed to be a means toward deeper instruction and meaningful learning.
