국문 초록

인간은 시각을 통해 외부의 사물을 인지하고 받아들인다. 시각은 인간의 다른 감각기관보다 많은 것을 외부로부터 인지한다. Muir에 의하면 우리가 외부로부터 인지하는 83% 정도는 시각을 통해서이고, 나머지는 다른 감각 기관을 통한다고 했다. 실질적으로 얼굴의 표정이나 대상의 색깔은 오직 시각체제를 통해서만 얻을 수 있는 정보들이다. 인간의 뇌도 많은 부분이 시각 정보를 분석하는데 관여하고 있다. 그만큼 시각체제는 우리에게 중요하다(Carlson, 2003; 김현택 외 역, 2006: 197). 즉, 시각체제는 두뇌가 사물을 분류하기 위해 필요한 정보들을 추출하고, 그 외에 끊임없이 일어나는 변화들을 제외시키는 능동적인 처리 과정이기도하다. 또한, 시각체제의 과정은 방대하고 변화무쌍한 정보들 속에서 대상의 지속적이고 본질적인 속성을 판단하고 필요한 요소들만을 골라내는 과정을 걸치며 정보를 얻는데 중요하지 않은 다른 정보들을 배제한다. 즉, 과거 경험에서 얻은 시각 정보들과 선택된 정보를 비교하여 사물이나 장면을 판별하고 분류 한다(Zeki, 1999; 박창범 역, 2003: 17).

영문 초록

The process what the visual system grasps the object is learning the characteristics of lines, bodies, colors, actions, etc. These special characteristics of visual system have relationship with molding elements which are visual and cognitive factors in art-expression activities. Therefore the purpose of this study is researching the relationship between molding elements and special attribute of visual system. The methods of this study are searching books which had relationship with visual system and molding elements - cognitive psychology, nerval psychology, visual psychology, general psychology - ordinarily. I find following results through the study : First, form, color, space, movement which are special attributes of visual system and form, color, space, movement in molding elements have same meaning. So the understand of visual system provides the physiological basis. Second, molding elements can be considered as physiological and scientific visual perception elements which has relationship with visual system not ambiguous art expressional factor. Third, the brain's visual cells which control form, color, space, movement - the special attribute of visual system are individual and successive. So we can know the molding elements is also individual and successive. For that reason we should adopt the same theory in the molding element's teaching contents and methods. Fourth, the visual system's process that controls shape, color, surface, depth is not similar to the visual system's process that controls movements. Consequently we can figure out that it is very different to make perception shape, color, quality, space and to make perception movements.
