문제 해결 역량 함양을 위한 교과 융합형 교수 모델 개발: 고등학교 국어과·사회과 연계 탐구 기반 토론 모형을 중심으로

국문 초록

본 연구는 국어과와 사회과의 연계 교육을 통해 문제 해결 역량을 효과적으로 함양할 수 있는 교수·학습 모델을 개발하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 구체적으로 토론이 학습자의 문제 해결 역량 함양에 기여할 수 있다는 판단에 따라 교과 융합형 토론 모형을 개발하고자 한다. 국어과에서는 토론 관련 성취기준과 교육 내용을 바탕으로 교사가 논리성과 합리성, 말하기의 적절성 등을 지도할 수 있다는 강점이 있다. 사회과는 사회과학의 원리와 교과 내용에 기반해 심층적인 탐구 학습으로 진행할 수 있다는 강점이 있다. 국어과와 사회과의 이와 같은 강점을 융합하여 교과 융합형 교수 모델로서 탐구 기반 토론 모형을 만들었다. 탐구 기반 토론 모형은 기존 반대신문식 토론 모형을 개선하여 탐구 과정 및 공감적 이해 과정을 강화하였다. 고등학생을 대상으로 탐구 기반 토론 모형을 적용하여 분석한 결과, 교수기법에 따른 분석에서 탐구 기반 토론 학습을 적용한 실험 집단에서 문제 해결력과 공감적 이해력이 통계적으로 유의미하게 향상되었다. 또한 탐구 기반 토론 학습으로 수업한 실험 집단이 강의식 수업을 한 비교 집단보다 문제 해결력과 공감적 이해력이 통계적으로 유의미하게 높게 나타났다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to develop a teaching-learning model that effectively enhances problem-solving competency through the integration of Korean language and social studies education. Specifically, the study seeks to develop a subject-integrated debate model, based on the judgment that debates can contribute to the development of students’ problem-solving competency. In regards to Korean language courses, teachers can guide students in logical reasoning, rationality, and appropriate speaking based on debate-related achievement standards and educational content. While in social studies, there is an advantage in conducting in-depth inquiry learning based on the principles and content of social sciences. By integrating the strengths of Korean language and social studies subjects, the study created an inquiry-based debate model as a subject-integrated teaching model. The inquiry-based debate model improves upon the traditional cross-examination debate model, strengthening the inquiry process and empathetic understanding. When the inquiry-based debate model was applied to high school students, the analysis revealed that the experimental group, which engaged in inquiry-based debate learning, showed statistically significant improvement in problem-solving competency and empathetic understanding compared to the control group, which participated in lecture-based instruction. Furthermore, the experimental group demonstrated statistically significant higher levels of problem-solving competency and empathetic understanding than the control group.
