제주도 관중과(Dryopteridaceae) 식물의 형태학적 및 분자생물학적 동정 비교

국문 초록

제주지역은 온난한 기후와 한반도 최남단의 화산섬이라는 지리적 특성으로 인해 다양한 양치식물이 자생하고 있다. 양치식물은 형태학적으로 식별이 까다롭기 때문에 양치식물 분류에 관한 연구가 많이 이루어지지 않았다. 본 연구는 제주도 양치식물의 정확한 분류체계를 수립하기 위하여 수행되었다. 2020-2023년까지 제주에 자생하는 관중과(Dryopteridaceae)에 속하는 식물을 수집하여, 각 문헌에 기록된 형태학적 특징을 바탕으로 한 형태적 동정과 DNA 염기서열 분석을 이용한 동정 결과를 서로 비교하였다. 수집된 양치식물 총 4속 53분류군 중에서 형태적인 동정과 분자생물학적 동정이 일치하는 종은 총 37분류군이었으며, 불일치하는 종은 17분류군이었다. 따라서 본 연구를 통하여 제주지역에 자생하는 관중과에 속하는 식물의 형태적 분류에서 분자생물학적 연구를 접목한 분류 체계로 재정립을 제안하였다.

영문 초록

A variety of native ferns are spontaneously growing in Jeju Island, due to its warm climate and geographical characteristics as the southernmost volcanic island of Korea. Although ferns contain various bioactive substances, research on fern classification has been limited because they are morphologically difficult to identify. This study was conducted to establish an accurate classification system for ferns in Jeju Island. From 2020 to 2023, plants belonging to the family Dryopteridaceae in Jeju Island were collected and the results of morphological identification based on the characteristics recorded in the literature were compared with those obtained from molecular biological identification using DNA sequence analysis. Among the total of 53 species from 4 genera of ferns collected, 37 species showed consistency between morphological and molecular biological identification, while 17 species did not. Based on this study, a reestablishment of the classification system for plants belonging to the family Dryopteridaceae plants in Jeju Island is suggested.
