국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 한국어 연결어미 ‘-는데/은데’를 프랑스어로 번역하는 과정에서 AI 번역(ChatGPT)과 인간 번역의 차이를 비교·분석하고, 이러한 차이가 번역의 정확성과 독자의 이해에 미치는 영향을 고찰하는 데에 있다. 이에 본 연구는 드라마 <오징어 게임>과 <더 글로리>의 자막을 대상으로 ‘-는데/은데’의 의미를 세 가지 범주로 분류하여 분석하였다. 그 결과 AI 번역은 높은 일관성과 효율성을 보였으나 문맥 내 미묘한 의미 차이를 충분히 반영하지 못하였다. 반면에 인간 번역은 자막의 가독성과 간결성을 유지하며 섬세한 의미를 효과적으로 전달하였다. 특히 AI는 원문에 충실하여 복합 문장 구조를 선호하였으나 인간 번역은 짧고 명확한 문장을 구성하는 경향을 보였다. 본 연구는 AI와 인간 번역의 상호보완적 가능성을 조명하고, 프랑스어권 학습자를 위한 한국어 연결어미 교육의 방향에 시사점을 제공한다는 점에 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

This study examines the differences between AI-based (ChatGPT) and human translations of the Korean connective endings ‘-nunde/eunde’ into French, focusing on their impact on translation accuracy and reader comprehension. To achieve this, the study analyzes subtitles from the dramas Squid Game and The Glory, categorizing ‘-nunde/eunde’ into three functional types for comparative analysis. The findings reveal that while AI-generated translations exhibit high consistency and efficiency, they often fail to capture subtle contextual nuances. In contrast, human translations prioritize readability and conciseness, effectively conveying the subtleties contained within the text. AI translation tends to adhere closely to the syntactic structure of the source text, producing complex sentence constructions, whereas human translators favor segmented, simplified expressions to enhance clarity and accessibility. This study underscores the complementary roles of AI and human translation in Korean-French translation, offering pedagogical insights for the instruction of Korean connective endings to French-speaking learners.
