청소년 지위비행의 경험적 검증: 우울감의 매개효과를 중심으로

국문 초록

이 연구는 한국 청소년의 대표적인 개인환경적 요인인 가정 밖의 학교요인과가정 내의 부모요인이 청소년 지위비행에 어떤 영향을 미치는지를 파악하는것이 그 주된 목적이었다. 특히 학교요인과 부모변인이 청소년 지위비행에직접적으로 영향을 미치는지 아니면 우울감을 경유하여 간접적으로 영향을미치는지를 독립변인의 직접효과와 간접효과 중 어느 것이 더 영향을 주는지분석하였다. 분석자료는 한국청소년정책연구원에서 2021년 10대 청소년의정신건강실태조사 데이터를 2차 자료로 사용하였다. 구조모델 분석결과, 학교생활에서 전반적으로 적응을 잘 하지 못하거나 가정에서 부모학대를 경험한청소년은 우울감이 증가하고 이렇게 증가된 우울감을 해소하기 위해 흡연, 음주, 무단결석, 가출을 할 가능성이 높은 것으로 드러났다. 또한 학업에 흥미가없거나 교사를 신뢰하지 않거나 학교규칙을 잘 지키지 않은 청소년은 직접적으로 지위비행을 저지를 가능성이 높고, 가정에서 부모에게 학대당하는 청소년은그렇지 않은 청소년에 비해 직접적으로 지위비행을 저지를 가능성도 높은 것으로 나타났다. 이 연구는 청소년의 정신건강에 많은 영향을 미치는 개인 환경적요인 중 학교요인과 부모요인이 청소년 지위비행에 영향을 미치는 메커니즘을경험적으로 검증했다는 점에서 중요한 학술적 의미가 있다고 평가할 수 있다.

영문 초록

The main purpose of this study was to determine how school factors outside the home and parental factors inside the home, which are representative personal environmental factors of Korean adolescents, affect adolescent status offenses. In particular, this study analyzed whether school and parental factors directly affect adolescent status behavior or indirectly affect it by mediating depression, and whether the direct or indirect effects of the independent variables are greater. The analysis used data from the 2021 Mental Health Survey of Teenagers conducted by the Korea Youth Policy Research Institute as secondary data. The results of the structural model analysis showed that adolescents who were not well adjusted in school or experienced parental abuse at home were more likely to be depressed and more likely to smoke, drink, truancy, and run away to relieve their depression. In addition, adolescents who were not interested in school, did not trust teachers, or did not follow school rules were more likely to directly commit status offenses, and adolescents who were abused by their parents at home were more likely to directly commit status offenses than those who were not abused by their parents. This study has important academic significance because it empirically validates the mechanisms by which school and parental factors influence adolescent status delinquency, two of the most influential personal environmental factors on adolescent mental health.
