국문 초록

배경 및 목적: 자폐범주성장애 아동은 타인의 정서, 사고, 바람, 믿음 등에 대한 마음상태를 파악하는 마음이론 발달에 어려움을 보인다. 연구 목적은 ‘대화식 책읽기’ 중재를 통해 이들의 마음이론 관련 마음상태 어휘 산출을 촉진하고 중재 및 일반화 효과를 검증하는데 있었다. 방법: 언어연령 5-6세의 자폐범주성장애 아동들을 대상으로 ‘PEER’ 전략을 적용한 ‘대화식 책읽기’ 중재를 실시하고, 상황그림 평가 과제를 통해 마음상태 어휘 산출 형태를 분석하고 부모보고 체크리스트를 사용하여 일반화 효과를 살펴보았다. 결과: 첫째, 대상 아동 모두 중재 이후 기초선 대비 마음상태 어휘의 총 산출 점수, NTW, NDW, 범주 유형 수와 범주 유형별 어휘 다양도가 증가하였다. 둘째, 유지 효과가 나타났으며, 셋째, 부모보고 체크리스트에서 중재 후 및 유지 단계에서 기초선 대비 마음상태 어휘 다양도의 증가가 나타났다. 논의 및 결론: 본 연구는 자폐범주성장애 아동들의 마음상태 어휘 산출 촉진에 대한 ‘대화식 책읽기’ 전략의 중재 효과와 일반화 효과를 검증하고, 언어재활 임상현장에서 이러한 활동을 통해 자폐범중성장애 아동들의 마음읽기를 중재할 수 있는 근거를제시했다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

Objectives: Children with Autism spectrum disorders (ASD) have difficulties in understanding thoughts, intentions, and beliefs of others, which are related to the development of theory of mind. The purpose of this study was to facilitate the production of mental state vocabulary related to theory of mind in these children through ‘Dialogic book-reading’ intervention and to verify the intervention and generalization effects. Methods: A “PEER” strategy was conducted with children with ASD. The pattern of mental state vocabulary production was analyzed through a picture task, and generalization effects were examined using a parent-report checklist. Results: First, all target children showed increases in total production scores of internal state vocabulary, NTW (Number of total words), NDW (Number of different words), types of category, and category diversity compared to baseline after the intervention. Second, maintenance effects were observed. Third, an increase in vocabulary diversity of mental states compared to baseline was reported in the parent-report checklist at both post-intervention and maintenance stages. Conclusion: This study provides evidence for the intervention and generalization effects of the interactive book reading strategy on the production of mental state vocabulary in children with ASD, highlighting the significance of using this strategy in clinical settings for training theory of mind in children with ASD.
