문해·언어 능력을 고려한 유치원 5세반 아동의 이야기 회상산출 특성

국문 초록

배경 및 목적: 본 연구는 유치원 5세반 아동의 이야기 회상 산출 능력이 기초 문해력과 의미·문법 수행력에 따라 어떤 특성을 가지는지살펴보고자 하였다. 방법: 대상 아동을 일반(TD), 문해고위험(DD), 이야기고위험(ND), 이야기 및 문해고위험(ND·DD), 이야기·문해· 언어고위험(ND·DD·SLI) 5집단으로 구분하여 각 10명씩 총 50명에 대한 이야기 회상산출 평가를 실시하였다. 도출된 결과를 하위 이야기문법 산출력, 결속표지 사용력, 언어지표 사용력으로 분석하여 집단 간 비교, 대조를 통해 수행력의 특성을 살펴보았다. 결과: ND, ND·DD, ND·DD·SLI 집단이 TD, DD 집단에 비하여 하위 이야기문법 산출(배경, 결과, 내적반응, 계기사건, 시도), 결속표지 정확률, 언어지표 사용(낱말 빈도 수, 문법형태소 빈도 수)에서 낮은 수행력을 보였다. 부적절한 결속표지 사용 수, MLTm, 문법형태소 오류율은집단 간 유의한 차이가 나타나지 않았다. 논의 및 결론: 의미, 문법 수행력이 낮은 ND·DD·SLI 집단은 이야기 회상산출 능력이 낮아 지원이 필요한 것으로 나타났다. 의미, 문법 수행력이 좋은 아이들이라 하더라도 ND 집단과 같이 이야기 회상산출 능력이 낮을 수 있으므로 이에 대한 조기 선별이 필요하다. 또한 의미, 문법 수행력이 좋음에도 불구하고 이야기 산출 능력, 초기문해 수행력이 낮은 ND·DD 집단은 유치원 시기에 언어 능력뿐만 아니라 문해, 이야기 능력에 대한 심화 검사와 지속적인 모니터링이 필요함을 시사한다.

영문 초록

Objectives: This study investigated the narrative retelling abilities of 5-year-old children at risk of narrative development, early literacy, and language skills focusing on story gram mar, linguistic cohesive devices, and semantic-grammatical index. Methods: Narrative Re telling production using KONA was conducted on a total of fifty kindergarten children, 10 typically developing children (TD), 10 at risk of developmental dyslexia (DD), 10 at risk of narrative discourse (ND), 10 at risk of narrative discourse and early literacy (ND·DD), and 10 at risk of early literacy and language as well as narrative discourse to compare the production of story grammars, linguistic cohesive markers, and use of linguistic indicators total number of words (NTW), number of grammatical morphemes, mean length of T-units in morpheme (MLT-m), grammatical morpheme error rate (GME) between groups. Results: ND, ND·DD and ND·DD·SLI groups showed lower performance in producing story gram mars, linguistic cohesive markers, NTW, and number of grammatical morphemes com pared to the TD and DD groups. There were no significant differences between groups in the number of inappropriate uses of linguistic cohesive devices, MLT-m, and grammatical morpheme error rate. Conclusion: The ND·DD·SLI group with poor semantics and gram mar showed significantly lower narrative retelling ability. This suggests that early intervention may be beneficial for children at risk for difficulties in language and narrative development. The ND group with good semantics and grammar was identified with their low narrative retelling abilities. In addition to typical development in semantics and grammar, there were children at risk of narratives with low abilities in early literacy. In addition to language skills, we need to screen and identity narrative abilities considering early literacy skills during the kindergarten period.
