『경람』의 편찬 의도와 전승의 의미

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 『경람』 수록 기록의 정체를 파악하고 자료의 관계와 편찬 의도를 밝혔다. 이 책에는 김창집과 민진원 등 사화의 중심에 있던 인물들의 글뿐 아니라 집안 여성들에 대한 글과 집안 여성이 쓴 글이 다수 수록되어 있다. 특히 김창집의 차녀가 쓴 글이 여러 편 실려있다는 점이 주목된다. 『경람』에 실린 기록들은 서로 관련성을 가지면서 노론의 정치적 입장과 소론과의 정파적 대립을 충으로 정당화하고 부형의 의리와 동일시하여 가문 중심의 시각을 마련하였다. 이를 바탕으로 여성들이 집안 대대로 이어진 정치적 화를 당파적 시각에서 바라보고 집안을 위기에 몰아넣었던 정치적 선택의 불가피성을 이해하도록 했다. 이 책은 집안 여성들이 가문이 부침을 거듭하게 된 정치적 상황을 파악하고 정치 일선에서 도덕적 우위를 점하고자 하는 주장을 적극적으로 수용하도록 한다. 그리고 사화 당시 집안을 수습한 여성의 역할을 구성원들이 알아야 할 가문의 역사로 평가하고 있다. 『경람』은 집안 여성을 위한 정치 교육서인 것이다. 『경람』은 부녀자들이 가문의 정치적 정체성과 일체화하는 동시에 정치적 감각과 현실적 대응력을 갖추도록 하는 기록들이다. 이 책은 정쟁으로 멸문의 가능성이 상존했던 시기에 김창집과 민진원 집안의 여성들에게 요구되었던 교양과 자질이 무엇인지 보여준다.

영문 초록

This study confirmed the identity of the records included in Gyeonglam and revealed their relationships and compilation intentions. This book contains not only the writings of people directly involved in the calamity of literati, such as Kim Chang-jip and Min Jinwon, but also many writings about and written by women in the family. In particular, it is noteworthy that it contains several articles written by Kim Chang-jip's second daughter. The records included in Gyeonglam are related to each other, justifying political positions and conflict between political factions as being for loyalty, and equating them with the loyalty of the father-in-law, thereby establishing a family-centered perspective. Based on this, women were encouraged to look at the political issues that had been passed down through generations in their families from a partisan perspective and understand the inevitability of the political choices that had put their families in crisis. Through this book, the women in the family understand the political situation in which the family has experienced repeated ups and downs and actively accept the position of taking the moral upper hand on the political front. And the role of the woman who took care of the family when it suffered great disaster with the calamity of literati was evaluated as a family history that members should know. Gyeonglam is a political education book for women in the family. Gyeonglam are records that integrate women with their family's political identity and at the same time equip them with political sensibility and realistic response skills. This book shows the culture and qualities required of the women of the Kim Chang-jip and Min Jinwon families at a time when the possibility of the family ruining due to political strife was always present.
