사회복지담당공무원의 노인에 대한 태도에 관한 연구

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 사회복지담당공무원들의 노인에 대한 태도를 파악하고 이를 통해 그들의 인식 개선 및 보다 효과적인 서비스 제공을 위한 기초자료를 제공하는데 의의가 있다. 사회복지담당공무원들을 대상으로 우편설문조사를 실시한 결과 최종 211부가 분석에 사용되었으며 주된 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 1) 사회복지담당공무원들의 노인에 대한 태도는 평균 점수 4.24점으로 중립적인 범위(3.5점∼4.5점)에 속하는 것으로 나타났다. 문항별로 보면 중립적인 범위를 벗어나 부정적인 태도를 보인 문항(8개)의 수가 긍정적인 태도를 보인 문항(4개)수보다 더 많았다. 2) 인구사회학적 특성에 따른 노인에 대한 태도를 분석한 결과, 성별, 사회복지 관련 전공, 직렬이 유의미한 차이를 보였다. 3) 노인관련 경험에 따른 노인에 대한 태도에 있어서는 노인관련 교육경험이 유의미한 영향을 미쳤고 그 외 변인은 별다른 영향을 미치지 않았다. 4) 고령화 비율에 따른 노인에 대한 태도 차이를 살펴본 결과, 고령화비율이 높은 지역에서 근무하는 사회복지담당공무원들의 노인에 대한 태도가 보다 긍정적인 것으로 나타났으며 주된 영향요인은 노인관련 교육경험(p<.001)과 사회복지 관련 전공여부(p<.05)로 나타났다. 이상의 연구결과를 바탕으로 본 연구의 함의와 실천적 제언 및 향후 연구과제를 제시하였다.

영문 초록

Thisstudy was conducted to examine the attitudes of social welfare officials toward the elderly and to suggest effective social welfare services for them. For the purpose of the study, data was collected from 211 subjects who worked as social welfare officials in five local governments with higher rates of an elderly population and five local governments with lower rates. The data was analyzed with t-test, Pierson correlation, ANOVA, and Regression using SPSS 16.0. The results of this study can be summarized as follows. First, the mean score of attitude toward the elderly was mid-range (standard rate was 4.24). The number of items in the negative attitude score range was more than those in the positive attitude score range. Second, asignificant predictor to explain the attitudes toward the elderly is knowledge about the elderly, sex, social welfare major, and educational experience about the elderly. Among them, the most significant predictor is educational experience with the elderly. Third, there was a significant difference in the attitudes of social welfare officials between the regions with a different ratio of an elderly population. The attitudes of social welfare officials toward the elderly in regions with higher rates of an elderly population were more positive. Based on the research results, implications for practice and future research are discussed.
