국문 초록

본고는 다의어에서의 의미 확장 과정에서 핵심 의미 작용을 하는 성분에 주목하여 동사 ‘熬’와 ‘炒’를 대상으로 사전과 코퍼스를 활용하여 이들의 핵심 의미 자질을 추출하는 방법과 과정을 소개하고, 그 역할과 방향성을 탐구하는 데 연구의 목적을 둔다. 또한, 構詞를 통해 ‘熬’와 ‘炒’의 복합어에서 보이는 핵심성분을 추출하여 핵심 의미 자질을 다시 입증하였다. 연구 결과, ‘熬’의 핵심 의미 자질은 동작의 시간과 관련된 [+장시간]이었고, 내포의미자질로 [+인내]자질이 ‘熬’의 의미 확장에서 두드러졌다. ‘炒’의 핵심 의미 자질은 동작의 횟수와 관련된 [+빈번]이었고, 내포의미자질로 [+조작]자질이 ‘炒’의 확장 의미에서 두드러졌다.

영문 초록

This study focuses on the core semantic components operating in the procedure of semantic expansion in polysemy. It introduces methods and processes for extracting the core-semantic features of the verbs ‘Ao(熬)’ and ‘Chao(炒)’ utilizing dictionaries and corpora. The research aims to investigate their roles and directions. Additionally, through lexical morphology analysis, the study extracts the core components observed in the compounds of ‘Ao(熬)’ and ‘Chao(炒)’, providing further evidence for their core-semantic features. Research on the core-semantic features of polysemy is of significant scholarly importance as it helps reveal the foundation and essence of word meanings, elucidating the intrinsic relationships between meanings within words. The results of the study indicate that the core-semantic feature of ‘Ao(熬)’ is closely associated with the duration of the action, specifically [+long duration], with the inherent-semantic feature of [+endurance] prominently manifesting in the semantic expansion of ‘Ao(熬)’. On the contrary, the core-semantic feature of ‘Chao(炒)’ is linked to the frequency of the action, specifically [+frequent]. [+Frequent] is one of the constituent features of [+stir-frying], where the inherent-semantic feature of [+manipulation] is prominently emphasized in the extended meaning of ‘Chao(炒)’.
