日本のコロナ禍社会で見られた価値観の両極化

국문 초록

本論文は、金原ひとみの短編作品｢アンソーシャルディスタンス｣をもとに、新型コロナウィルスによって変化する日本社会での価値観の違いを考察したものである。2020年上半期、コロナ禍によって自粛モードであった日本では、不要不急の外出を控えることが当然のことであり、外出すること自体が無責任な行動であるという認識が強かった。 その一方で、新型コロナウィルスを楽観視し、変わりゆく日常に同調しない価値観も存在した。しかしその価値観を持っていた人々は少数派に属していたことから、多数の人が共有している価値観に同調しないという理由で日本社会の集団から排除されやすい立場であった。金原は｢アンソーシャルディスタンス｣を通して彼らのような社会に同調できずにいる立場の人物たちを主人公とし、彼らの価値観を代弁している。｢正しい行動｣を正義とする立場と、その｢正しさ｣に溶け込めない立場の、両極した視点に立ち客観的な姿勢を貫きながら相互の心理を鋭く描写している。一見混じり合うことが不可能にも見られる正反対の価値観を主人公によって融合させることで、読者は両方の価値観を理解することができるのである。

영문 초록

In this article, I examine Hitomi Kanehara’s short novel, Unsocial Distance to analyse the shift in values manifested in the Japanese society during the COVID pandemic. In the first half of 2020, there was a mood of voluntary restraint in Japan; people had to be at home unless there is an emergency, and if one goes out during this period, it was strongly recognised as an irresponsible act. On the other hand, there was a different way of thinking according to which they optimistically thought of the COVID-19 and did not adjust themselves to the changing society. Such people, however, held a minority position, and they thus tended to be excluded from the society. In her novel, Unsocial Distance, Kanehara features those minority people who do not fit into the society and represents their values. In her novel, Kanehara describes people with seemingly completely opposite values as the main characters, so that the reader can understand and appreciate both values.
