영문 초록

The Lunyu, composed from the dialogues between Confucious and his pupils, is the textbook which is the basis for Confucianism. The Daodejing which reflects Laozi's philosophy is the textbook of Taoism. Confucianism places emphasis on human society, on the other hand, Taoism puts stress on naturalism. Though their doctrines are different, both of them aim to realize the best life for human beings in the world.In Lunyu, there are nany instructions for our life which we should keep in society, but a few of them also involve Taoism. We can find that Confucious also takes a kind of ideas similaring to Taoism in Lunyu. Although Confucious didn't take Taoism for granted, there are the same ideas as Taoism in the book. Laozi contradicted Confucianism but there are some Cofucian theories in the book, Taodejing. As a result, we can find the same ideas in the two books. Up to now, people have been used to regarding them as completely different theories. Therefore, people have studied them only in the other case. Confucianism and Taoism, influenced by political doctrines or passions, have exchanged their ups and downs. As a result, Chinese literary styles have been affected by them. Both ideas have had an influence on the contents of Chinese literature, so we can find the function of both ideas not only in literature history but also many works. Up until now, many people have compared Confucianism and Taoism focusing on they are different. The many papers about the different characteristics of them have emerged from researching, but the paper about the same view point of them has never emerged until now. This paper, however, explores the common elements between the two books, Lunyu and Daodejing which are the original books of Confucianism and Taoism. This investigation will be material in studing the contents of all Chinese works of literature.
