일제강점기 초등수학교육에 관한 연구

국문 초록

이 논문에서는 일제강점기 36년간 초등수학교육이 전개된 법적 토대를 연구하였다. 이를 위해 일제강점기에 공포된 교육 법령을 조사하고 그 중에서 초등수학교육에 관한 내용을 모아 변화 과정을 살폈다. 초등수학교육은 다른 교과목에 비해 상대적으로 안정된 모습으로 전개되었다. 그러면서도 일제강점기 36년의 초기와 후기 사이에 적지 않은 변화가 있었다. 교과목명이 산술에서 산수로 바뀌었으며, 수와 계산 중심이었던 산술교육은, 형, 기하, 대수적 계산 등을 포괄하는 것으로까지 확대되었다. 한국인과 재조선일본과 사이에 초등수학교육적인 측면에서 차이가 그다지 없는 것으로 보일 수 있지만, 둘 사이에는 기본 학제가 달라 수학교육을 받을 기회에 있어 한국인이 차별을 받는 구조였다.

영문 초록

This study examined the legal basis of elementary school mathematics education during the 36 - year period of Japanese colonial rule. For this purpose, the education - related laws promulgated in the period of Japanese colonial rule were investigated and the major changes in the contents related to elementary mathematics education were analyzed. Compared to other subjects, elementary mathematics education was developed in a relatively stable and consistent manner. At the same time, there seemed to be a considerable difference between elementary mathematics education in the early and late 36th year of Japanese colonial rule. Arithmetic education has been changed to “Sansu” education, and arithmetic education, which was centered on numbers and calculations, has expanded to include figures, geometry, and algebraic calculations.
