국문 초록

본 연구는 코로나19 전후 대학교 1학년 내용 영역별 수학학업성취도의 변화를 살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 위하여, 2019년과 2021년 지방소재 공과대학 입학 직후 시행한 진단평가와 1학기 중간⋅기말고사 점수를 100점으로 환산하여 여러 측면에서 비교하였다. 그 결과는 첫째, 코로나19 전후 비교를 통해 2021년 수학학력 저하를 확인할 수 있었으며, 함수, 적분 영역은 대면 수업이, 미분, 미분의 응용 영역은 온라인 수업이 학업성취도에 긍정적인 영향을 준다는 사실을 확인할 수 있었다. 둘째, 상집단의 경우에는 초월함수, 함수와 극한, 미분, 미분의 응용 영역에서 온라인 수업이 더 효과적임을 확인할 수 있었다. 셋째, 하집단의 경우에는 함수, 초월함수, 함수와 극한, 적분 영역에서 대면 수업이 더 효과적임을 확인할 수 있었다. 넷째, 2019년 대면 수업을 통한 상⋅하집단 간 내용 영역별 비교 결과 모든 영역에서 하집단의 학업성취도가 상집단 보다 더 높았지만 통계적으로 유의미한 차이는 보이지 않았다. 마지막으 로, 2021년 온라인 수업에 대한 상⋅하집단 간 내용 영역별 비교 결과 모든 영역에서 상집단의 학업성취 도가 하집단 보다 더 높았지만 적분 영역에서만 통계적으로 유의미한 차이를 보였다.

영문 초록

This study examined the changes in mathematics achievement in certain content areas of freshmen before and after Covid-19. For this purpose, in 2019 and 2021, the diagnosis assessment and the mid-term and final exam scores for the first semester of the local engineering college students were converted into 100 points and compared in various aspects. As a result, first, the scores seem to confirm a decline in mathematics achievement in 2021 when compared to the scores achieved before the Covid-19 pandemic. Second, in the case of the upper group, online classes were more effective concerning the study of transcendental function, function and limit, derivatives, and the application of derivatives. Third, in the lower level group, the face-to-face classes were more effective regarding the study of function, transcendental function, function and limit, and integrals. Fourth, the results of the comparison of contents between the upper and lower level groups in 2019 showed that the lower level group’s achievement was higher than the upper level group’s in all areas, but that there was no statistically significant difference. Finally, the results of the comparison between the upper and lower level groups in 2021 showed that the upper level group’s achievement was higher than the lower level group’s in all areas, but that there was a statistically significant difference only when it came to the learning of integrals., in addition to the content characteristics of courses in the liberal arts area regarding the basic nature of a major.
