국문 초록

현재 인류에게 직면한 환경문제로 인하여 제품의 지속가능성을 확보하는 것은 매우 중요한 필수요소가 되었다. 이를 위해 제품의 제작 초기에 해당하는 제품기획 및 개발과정에서 소재의 선택은 매우 중요하다. 소재의 선택이 제품 전체의 지속가능성에 미치는 영향이 크기 때문에 이를 담당하고 있는 개발자 및 디자이너의 역할 또한 크다고 보겠다. 본 연구에서는 제품 소재의 선택을 하게 되는 개발자 및 디자이너가 체계적으로 소재를 선택하여 제품의 지속가능성을 확보하는데 도움을 줄 수 있는 가이드라인을 제시하고자 한다. 이에 소재의 에코 특성에 관한 연구가 수행되었으며 소재 선택에 도움이 되는 에코디자인 가이드라인 목록을 개발하였다. 이 데이터는 잘 알려진 에코 가이드라인(Eco-Guideline) 개념에서 파생 되었으며 제품 수명 주기 성능을 개선하여 지속가능한 제품을 디자인할 수 있는 도움을 주기 위한 목적으로 작성되었다. 본 논문에 설명된 소재 선택 가이드라인은 환경에 미치는 영향이 적은 자원 사용, 소재 수명 연장, 환경 윤리 및 정책의 세 가지 주요 에코 전략에서 도출되었다. 각 소재 가이드라인에 대해 평가기준을 정의하고 특성을 설명하는데 목적을 두고 있다.

영문 초록

Currently, Securing product sustainability has become a very important prerequisite due to environmental problems facing mankind. To this end, it is very important to select materials in the product planning and development process corresponding to the early stages of product production. Since the selection of materials has a great impact on the sustainability of the entire product, the role of developers and designers in charge of it is also great. This study aims to present guidelines that help developers and designers who select product materials systematically select materials to secure product sustainability. Accordingly, a study on the echo characteristics of the material was conducted, and a list of eco-design guidelines was developed to help select the material. This data is derived from the well-known concept of Eco Guideline and is designed to help design sustainable products by improving product life cycle performance. The material selection guidelines described in this paper were derived from three major eco-strategies: resource use, material lifetime extension, and environmental ethics and policy with little impact on the environment. For each material guideline, evaluation criteria were defined, characteristics were explained, and various quantitative and qualitative characteristics were identified to easily select the most suitable material for eco-friendly products.
