국문 초록

본 연구는 장소 특정적 미술의 장소성이 물리적 공간에서 담론으로, 그리고 공동체로 이동하는 패러다임의 변화에 대해 이론적으로 연구하고, 도자에 내재되어 있던 장소 특정성과 공동체성이 동시대미술의 흐름과 만나 어떻게 공동체의 예술로서 실현되는지 그 사례를 조사한다. 이를 통해 이 시대 도예 작업의 문화적 확장성을 가늠하고 동시대 도자의 담론을 이해하는 것이 본 연구의 목적이다. 먼저, II장 확장된 장소 특정성으로서의 지역(place)과 공동체(community)의 개념을 분석하고 공동체를 중심으로 한 새로운 미술의 패러다임을 해석하는 틀로서 니콜라 부리오(Nicolas Bourriaud, 1965-)의 관계 미학과 클레어 비숍(Claire Bishop, 1971-)의 참여 미술에 대해 연구한다. III장에서는, 도자역사에서 발견되는 장소 특정성과 공동체 문화의 특성이 반영된 도자문화에 대해 기술하고, 클레어 투미(Clare Twomey, 1968-)와 닐 브라운스워드(Neil Brownsword, 1970-), 린다 솔민(Linda Sormin, 1971-) 등 동시대 도예 작가 3인의 사례연구에서 그들이 공동체와 취하고 있는 각각의 소통방식과 의미를 고찰한다.

영문 초록

This study theoretically studies the paradigm change in which the meaning of site-specific art moves from physical place to discourse and community, and how the site specificity and community inherent in ceramics meet the flow of contemporary art. Investigate the case of whether it is realized as a community art. Through this, the purpose of this study is to assess the cultural extensibility of the ceramic work of this era and to understand the discourse of contemporary ceramics. First, the relationship between Nicolas Bourriaud(1965-) as a framework for analyzing the concept of place and community as an extended place specificity in Chapter II and interpreting a new art paradigm centered on community A study on aesthetics and participatory art of Claire Bishop(1971-). Chapter III describes the ceramic culture that reflects the site specificity and community culture found in the history of ceramics, and Clare Twomey(1968-), Neil Brownsword(1970-), and Linda Sormin(1971-) and other contemporary ceramic artists, in the case study, examines the communication methods and meanings of each of them with the community.
