독서지형도의 형성과 청각공동체의 구성

국문 초록

이 연구는 대형 인터넷 서점 YES24에서 운영하는 채널YES의 오디오 북클립 프로그램 <책읽아웃>을 연구 대상으로 삼았다. 디지털미디어의 발전에 따라 성인독자들은 중고등학교 교실이나 대학 강의실에서 일방적으로 주어지는 교양필수도서를 더이상 만나지 않는다. 다양한 도서 관련 프로그램을 서비스 형태로 자유롭게 선택하는이들은 이제 구독자라는 명칭을 얻었다. 이 글은 <책읽아웃>의 구독자들이 어떤 독서지형도를 그리며, 그들이 형성하는 청각공동체의 특징이 무엇인가를 검토하였다. 2장에서는 도서 프로그램의 진행자가 기존 교육기관의 권위를 대체하는 과정을 살펴보았다. 진행자들은 대부분 책을 출판한 도서관련 전문가들이지만 그 권위를 내세우는 대신, 자신들이 좋아하는 책이나 관심을 기울이게 된 책들을 소개하고 저자와진행자 자신의 삶의 경험을 이야기로 풀어내면서 친밀감을 중심으로 아우라를 형성하였다. 3장과 4장에서는 <책읽아웃>이 일하는, 학습지향적인 여성독자들에게 어필하며공감-앎의 공동체이자 자기계발-돌봄의 공동체를 구축하고 있음을 밝혔다. 새로운세계를 알고 타인을 공동체의 일원으로 인식하게 유도했으나 공감을 반복한다는 점에서 이질성이 약화될 수 있음을, 자기계발과 돌봄을 다루면서 다분히 보수적이고 엘리트 중심으로 접근하여 여성노동의 층위가 단순해졌음을 언급했다. 논의의 실증성이 통계로 보완되지 못했던 점, 관련 활동을 좀 더 검토하지 못한 점을 한계로 꼽으며이를 후속 연구로 보완코자 한다.

영문 초록

This study targeted , a program by channel YES, run by a large Internet bookstore “YES24.” With the development of digital media, adult readers no longer seem as interested in liberal arts essential books used unilaterally in middle-school, high-school, and university classrooms. Those who freely choose various book-related programs in the form of services are now referred to as subscribers. This study reviewed the reading topography of the subscribers of and the characteristics of the auditory community they form. Chapter 2 examines the process of replacing the authority of existing educational institutions by the host of the book program. Most of the hosts are book-related experts with published books to their name; however, instead of advocating their authority, they introduce their favorite books those they consider compelling and create an aura around intimacy by unraveling the author and the host’s own life experiences. Chapters 3 and 4 revealed that appeals to learning-oriented female readers and is building a community that inculcates empathy-knowledge and self-development-care. The hosts mentioned that although they knew a new world and induced others to recognize the subscibers as members of the community, heterogeneity could weaken in that they repeated empathy, the hosts took a conservative and elite-centered approach to self-development and care, simplifying the level of women’s labor. The limitations are the fact that the positivity of the discussion has not been supplemented by statistics and that related activities have not been reviewed further; however, this will be supplemented with follow-up studies
