순간과 존재를 기록한 흔적 장신구 사진론

국문 초록

본 논문은 영속적으로 실체화된 장신구가 아닌 순간 사라지고 존재가 없는, 또는 존재가 희미해진 장신구의 흔적을 기록한 사진의 의미를 분석하였다. 순간 사라진 존재는 흔적으로 남아 확정적 사건의 구조에서 이탈함으로써 또 다른 해석의 가능성으로 진입한다. 확정적인 어제와 오늘 그리고 내일이 있는 지속의 시간 안에서 비연속적 ‘순간’이란 ‘지금’과 ‘여기’라는 시공간의 결합점이다. 비연속적으로 섬광처럼 일어나는 ‘순간’에 의해 수평적인 지속이라는 시간 안에서의, 단절하는 조건을 사라짐으로 상정하고 사라져 버렸지만 사라지기를 멈추지 않는 존재(Real)에 주목하였다. 사라지는 순간을 기록한 사진을 지표(index)론에 근거해서 살펴보고 흔적이 보내오는 신호를 추적하였다. 이때의 신호는 상징(symbol)이 아닌 기호의 모호함이자 의미가 자립하지 못한 중립이며 복합 신호 또는 비확정적 신호로 남는다. 외부의 자극으로 신체에 새겨진 자국, 흔적은 다시 한번 사진-인덱스 과정을 거쳐 흔적의 흔적이 되는 가설을 세우고 순간과 존재, 사라짐의 의미를 밝혀보고자 하였다. 과거에서 현재, 그리고 미래로 나아가는 시간의 지속에서 도구적 유용성이 소멸해 버린 멈춤, 현존에 예속되지 않는 순간의 문제를 중심으로 논하였다. 존재의 사라짐과 순간의 유기적 관계에서 발생하는 흔적의 신호를 통해 본 논의에서 제시한 장신구 사진의 메시지를 종합하여 결론을 도출하였다.

영문 초록

This paper has done analysis on the meaning of the picture that recorded the moment of the trace of the jewelry that is not been permanently materialized - that it is gone and non-existing, or the jewelry which its existence has faded. A gone being remains as a trace and break away from the structure of the definite event and therefore dives into another possibility of interpretation. In continuing time that definitely has yesterday, today, and tomorrow, discontinued moment refers to the bonding of ‘now’ and ‘here’ - space and time. In time that horizontally continues by discontinuing moment that rises like a flash, we focused on being that disappeared but has not stopped disappearing while setting the condition for disconnection as ‘disappearing’. Based on index theory, this paper traced the photo that recorded the disappearing moment and tracked the signal that the trace sent. The signal here refers not to a symbol but an ambiguity of sign and neutrality of meaning that failed to be independent, therefore remain as complex/non-deterministic signal. For marks and traces that were engraved in the body by external stimuli, theory were set up - they went through photo-index process and become trace of trace and tried to discover the meaning of disappearing. In continuing of time, from past to present, and present to future, this paper focused on the problem of the moment that is not subjected to the existence, and usefulness in terms of tool has vanished. Conclusion has been derived, through signal of trace from organic relationship with the disappearing of the being along with the jewelry photo presented in this paper.
