국문 초록

시문신독본(時文新讀本)의 ｢연습도(練習圖)｣는 언어학습을 위한 보조자료로 한글 및 한자를 놀이를 통해 흥미롭게 익힐 수 있도록 별도로 제작된 것이다. 시문신독본은 일제 강점기인 1927년 황응두(黃應斗)가 편찬한 것으로 발행지는 대구이다. 이 ｢연습도｣는 모두 23장으로, 이 중 ｢朝鮮文練習上圖｣와 ｢朝鮮文練習下圖｣는 ‘한글을 다루고 있어 더욱 흥미롭다. ｢연습도｣에는 3가지의 언어가 혼재하는데, 한글 놀이판에는 한글이, 한자놀이판에는 한자와 일본어가 병기되어 있다. ｢연습도｣매 장에는 놀이의 방법이 한글로 적혀 있고, ｢조선문연습도｣에는 ‘ㄱ’항인 ‘가갸거겨고교구규그기과궈’~‘ㅎ’항인 ‘하햐허혀호효후휴흐히화훠’를 익히도록 하였다. ｢제1연습도｣~｢제21연습도｣는 매 장마다 주제별로 한자의 음과 훈을 연습하도록 구성되어 있다. 이는 동일 저자의 저술인｢통학경편｣을 바탕으로 한다. 국어학적 특성으로는 표기와 음운면에서 살펴볼 수 있는데, 각자병서, 분철, 7종성의 경향성이 뚜렷했으나, 간혹 합용병서인 ‘ㅼ’, ‘ㅾ’의 표기나 ‘ㄺ, ㄻ, ㄼ’의 겹받침 표기도 보인다. 유음화가 반영되지 않은 ㄹㄴ표기의 유지, 두음에서의 한자음 ㄹ, ㄴ유지 등의 특성을 보이고 있다. 모음에서는 ‘･’ 표기가 전면적으로 사라졌으나 한글 자모 예시에만 남아 있는 점 등에서 당시 ‘･’의 표기의 혼란을 짐작할 수 있다. 음운에서는 ‘ㄷ’구개음화 현상과 원순모음화 현상이 나타난다. 구개음화의 경우는 고유어에 한해 반영되며, 한자음에서는 거의 보이지 않는다. 언어교육을 위한 보조자료로서의 희소 가치와 국어사 자료로서의 가치를 동시에 지니고 있다는데 의의가 크다.

영문 초록

The ｢Practice Board(練習圖)｣ of Simunsindokbon(時文新讀本), which is a supplementary material for the language learning is separately made for learning Korean and Chinese character through the game. Simunsindokbon(時文新讀本) is published by Hwang, Eungdu in 1927 during the Japanese colonial period and the place of issue is Daegu in South Korea. The ｢Practice Board｣ is a ll 20 piec es and ｢The first volume of Korean language practice board｣ and ｢The second volume of Korean language practice board｣ among them deal with Korean alphabet, so it is more interesting. The ｢Practice Board｣ is blended with three languages written side-byside in Korean on the Korean practice board and in Chinese character and Japanese on the Chinese practice board. The method of play in each ｢Practice Board｣ is written in Korean and the ｢Korean language practice board｣ among them is acquired f rom the section ‘ㄱ’ including ‘가갸거겨고교구규그기과궈’ to the sec tion ‘ㅎ’ including ‘하햐허혀호효후휴흐히화훠’. ｢The first practice board｣ to ｢the twenty second practice board｣ are organized to practice the sound and the meaning of Chinese characters for each topic. This is based on the book of the same writer, ｢Tonghakgyeongpyeon｣. As for the Korean language characteristics, it examines in terms of notation and phonology. Although the tendency of each byeongseo, buncheol and 7 final consonants is clear, but it sometimes shows the notion of the combined byeongseo ‘ㅼ’, ‘ㅾ’ or the double final consonants ‘ㄺ, ㄻ, ㄼ’. Also, it shows the traits of maintaining the notation ㄹ, ㄴ and the maintaining the sound of the Chinese character ㄹ, ㄴ in the initial sound. In the vowel, the notation ‘･’ entirely disappeared, but it remains only in the example of Korean alphabet. In the sound, the ‘ㄷ’ palatalization and the vowel rounding appears. In case of the palatalization, i t is reflected only in the Korean native word, and i s hardly seen in the chinese charac ter. It has a great significance that i t has both s carcity value as a supplementary material for language learning and as a material of Korean language history.
