공공정보디자인의 비구상적 표현에 관한 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 공공정보디자인이 전통적 방식의 정보디자인의 틀을 벗어나 어떠한 방법론으로 다른 관점의 정보디자인을 수행 할 수 있을지에 대한 실험과 가능성을 시도해 보고자 하였다. 이를 위한 이론적 연구로 공공정보디자인의 정의와 시대변화에 따른 효과적인 정보디자인의 중요성에 대해 언급하고 구상과 비구상에 대한 예술적 정의를 통해 새로운 정보디자인의 방법론으로서의 가능성을 이론적으로 검토하였다. 이후 전통적 정보디자인과 픽토그램을 조형적인 측면뿐만 아니라 의미적 측면도 함께 살펴보면서 실제 사용되고 있는 쓰레기 분리수거함에 적용된 현황과 예시들을 국내와 해외 주요도시들을 중심으로 비교 검토해보았고, 이론적 배경에서 도출된 내용을 바탕으로 쓰레기 분리수거함을 위한 새로운 관점의 정보디자인 프로세스를 제안하였다. 단순히 공공 픽토그램 하나를 리디자인(re-design)하는 것을 넘어 공공디자인의 수준을 한 단계 높이기 위한 본 연구의 제언이 후속연구로 이어지기를 바란다.

영문 초록

This study sought to experiment with and explore the possibilities of public information design beyond the framework of traditional information design and how it can be implemented from a different perspective. As a theoretical study to this end, we mention the importance of effective information design with the definition of public information design and the changing times, and theoretically examine the possibility of new information design methodology through artistic definitions of figurative and non-figurative design. Afterwards, we looked at the traditional information design and pictogram as well as the semantic aspects, and compared the actual conditions and examples applied to the garbage collection system in major domestic and overseas cities. Based on the theoretical background, we proposed a new information design process. Beyond simply re-designing a single public pictogram, we hope that this research s suggestion to raise the level of public design to the next level will lead to further research.
