국문 초록

본 논문은 2008년 수행된 서울시의 환경위생차량 디자인의 노후화를 개선하고 새로운 이미지를 제공하여 시민의 일상적 환경의 질과 환경미화원의 작업 안전성을 높임으로써 보다 새로운 문화가치를 가진 서울의 도시 정체성을 확립하는데 기여하고자 한다. 연구의 과정에서 다양한 사례연구를 통해 세계 주요 국가와 도시들은 공공디자인의 영역을 통해 도시의 아이덴티티를 어떻게 만들고 있는지를 살펴보았으며, 서울시의 고유색을 바탕으로 한 컬러시스템의 적용과 차량의 오염도와 관리성을 반영한 새로운 디자인 프로세스의 개발은 도시정체성을 유지하면서도 환경위생차량의 이미지와 관리에 적합한 디자인결과물을 도출할 수 있었다. 이처럼 대상에 대한 체계적인 연구는 목적에 부합하면서도 심미성을 갖춘 디자인의 결과물을 도출하는데 매우 중요한 프로세스라고 할 수 있다. 서울시는 새로운 환경위생차량의 디자인개발을 통해 국제적 위상을 갖춘 공공디자인의 도시로 거듭날 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

This study on the design process for improving the image of environmental sanitation vehicles in Seoul aims to improve the aging of the city s environmental hygiene vehicle design conducted in 2008 and provide a new image to help establish the city s urban identity with a new cultural value by enhancing the quality of citizens everyday environment and working safety of street cleaners. Through various case studies, major countries and cities around the world looked at how they were making urban identity through the areas of public design, and the development of new design processes that reflected the application of color systems based on Seoul s unique color and the pollution and manageability of vehicles was able to produce design results suitable for the image and management of environmental sanitation vehicles while maintaining urban identity. This systematic study of objects is a very important process for deriving the results of a purpose-built yet aesthetic design. The Seoul Metropolitan Government will be able to be reborn as a public design city with international status through the design development of new environmental sanitation vehicles.
