창원지역의 근대농업유산 보존 및 활용에 관한 기초적 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 근대문화유산 중 지금까지 소홀하게 다루어져 왔던 근대농업유산(창원지역)을 중심으로 그 실태를 파악하고 이를 효과적으로 보존할 수 있는 방안을 마련하는 한편, 이를 효과적으로 보존·활용할 수 있는 방안을 마련함으로써 현존하는 근대농업유산이 더 이상 흔적도 없이 사라지거나 철거되지 않도록 이에 대한 기록을 남길 수 있는 기초적 연구로서 자료를 구축하는 것이 주요 목적이다. 근대농업유산은 일제 강점기에 토지구획정비사업이나 농촌 수리사업의 일환으로 생산량을 증대하고 근대농업으로서의 기반을 다지는 과정에서 생성된 것이 대부분으로, 이 때문에 본 연구에서는 구 창원시의 농촌지역인 동읍과 대산면을 중심으로 개항기 이후 일제 강점기 시기에 형성된 근대농업유산을 대상으로 조사하였다. 연구결과, 근대농업유산은 대부분 일제강점기에 형성된 것으로, 건설 당시와 비교하여 그 보존상태가 매우 양호한 것으로 나타났으며, 특히 지금까지도 조성당시의 용도대로 농업용 구조물로서 활용되고 있는 사례가 대부분인 것으로 조사되었다. 또한 근대농업유산이면서도 역사적 의미와 함께 조형성이나 활용성 측면에서 보존가치가 높은 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 근대농업유산에 대한 실태조사와 함께 기록화와 보존방안, 활용방안을 마련하여 더 이상 아무런 기록도 없이 멸실되거나 훼손되지 않도록 실태조사와 함께 구체적인 기록화가 필요한 것으로 판단된다. 이와 함께 현재도 농업용 구조물로서 활용되고 있음을 감안하여 이러한 시설들에 대한 농업용 교육자료이자 체험자료로서의 활용방안을 모색할 필요가 있으며, 특히 더 이상 조성당시의 용도대로 사용되지 않고 있는 근대농업유산들은 철거나 멸실되지 않도록 발굴하여 보존하는 방안이 시급한 것으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

This study focused on the modern agricultural heritage (Changwon area) which has been neglected so far among the modern cultural heritage, and researched diverse ways to preserve and utilize them effectively. Therefore, this paper aims to establish the database about Changwon area modern agricultural heritages as a basic study, and record of the existing modern agricultural heritages not to destroy and demolish of them any more. Most of the modern agricultural heritages was constructed to increase rice production as a foundation for modern agriculture or rural repair projects during the Japanese occupation. Accordingly, this study surveyed on the modern agricultural heritages to be formed during the Japanese occupation focused on the Dong-eup and Dae-san area(rural areas in the former Changwon city). As a result of the study, most of the modern agricultural heritage was formed during the Japanese colonial period, and it was found that the preservation condition was very good compared to the time of construction. In particular, it was investigated that most cases are still used as agricultural structures depending on the use at the time of construction. In addition, despite being a modern agricultural heritage, it has a high preservation value in terms of formativeness and usefulness along with historical significance. Therefore, it is judged that it is necessary to create a record, preservation, and utilization plan along with the fact-finding survey, so that it is no longer lost or damaged without the record, and detailed records must be made together with the fact-finding survey. Modern agricultural heritage. In addition, considering that these facilities are still used as agricultural structures, it is necessary to seek ways to utilize these facilities as educational materials and experience materials for agriculture. It turns out that there is an urgent need to excavate and preserve so that it does not disappear.
