제주 고지도를 활용한 지역학습 방안

국문 초록

본 연구는 중학교 1학년 사회 「I. 지역과 사회탐구」단원 학습에 있어서 고지도의 활용에 관한 방안을 구안하였다. 즉 고지도를 하나의 학습 매체로 인식하여 「I . 지역과 사회탐구」 단원 중 <1. 지역의 지리적 환경>, <2. 지역 사회의 변화와 발전> 단원에서 여러 가치 지리적 요소들을 추출하여 지역학습방안을 설계하였다. 현존하는 제주 고지도중 매우 사실적이고 내용이 풍부한 <濟州三邑全圖>를 활용하여 자연 지리적 요소를 이용한 학습, 인문 지리적 요소를 이용한 학습, 지역변화학습, 문화유적학습 등의 학습을 구성하고 4차시 교수·학습 과정안과 탐구학습지 자료를 개발하였다. 자연 지리적 요소를 이용한 학습에서는 <제주삼읍전도>를 활용하여 위치, 화산지형, 해안과 하천, 곶자왈의 특징 등의 내용을 학습할 수 있게 구성하였다. 이를 통하여 제주지역의 자연환경의 특색을 파악할 수 있는 학습방안을 제시하였다. 인문 지리적 요소를 이용한 학습에서는 <제주삼읍전도>, 『耽羅巡歷圖』의 <漢拏壯촉>, <山莊狗馬> 등의 고지도를 통하여 제주도의 촌락, 방어시설, 과원, 목장의 특색을 파악하도록 구성하였다. 이를 통하여 제주지역의 인문환경의 특색을 파악할 수 있는 학습 방안을 제시하였다. 지역변화학습에서는 <제주삼읍전도>와 현재 지도를 통하여 행정구역의 변천과정, 시대별 중심지, 교통·통신 수단의 변화, 지명의 변화 등을 학습하고 이러한 변화를 가져온 요인을 탐구하도록 구성하였다. 이를 통하여 제주 지역의 여러 가지 변화 요소들을 시각적이고 공간적으로 파악할 수 있는 학습방안을 제시하였다. 문화유적학습에서는 <제주삼읍전도>, 『탐라순력도』의 <濟州殿最>, <別防操點>, <한라장촉> 등을 통하여 제주목판아, 관방유적, 제주시권 문화유적, 향교 등을 탐구하도록 구성하였다. 이를 통하여 제주지역의 문화유적을 파악하도록 제시하였다.

영문 초록

This study is to design a practical use of old map for the lesson of Exploring Regions unit in 1st year middle school Social Studies. I designed a teaching method of Jeju Region using old maps which are recognized as important teaching materials along with various geographical factors taken from 1. Geographical environment of Region and 2. Change and Development of Community in the 1. Region and Society Exploration unit. , one of the old maps of Jeju has graphic description and richness of contents. It was used for 4 period teaching plans including natural geographical factors, human geographical factors, region change, and culture. in the lesson using natural geographical factors, teaching plan was designed so that students could learn location, topography of volcano, seashore and rivers, Gojjawal s characteristic and so on. Through this, teaching method was suggested that learners could grasp specific character of natural environment in Jeju. in the lesson using human geographical factors, teaching plan was designed so that students could grasp specific character of village, defenses, orchard, ranch of Jeju Island through old maps such as , , and of Tamrasunryeokdo , Through these, teaching method was suggested that students could grasp specific character of human environment in Jeju. in the lesson using region change, teaching plan was designed so that students could understand change process of administrative division, center by period, the means of traffic and communication, change of place-name, and so on. These of are compared with those of present map. Through this, teaching method was suggested that learners could grasp various change factors in Jeju visually and spatially. in the lesson using cultural remains, teaching plan was designed that students could research Jejumokkwana, Gwanbangyoujeok Hyangyo in and , , of Tamrasunryeokdo etc. Through this, teaching method was suggested that students could grasp cultural remains in Jeju.
