제주여성문화 연구의 현황과 과제

국문 초록

전 세계적으로 국가나 지역에 따라 자신들의 정체성 확인 방법으로 문화 핏줄찾기를 시도하고 있으며, 이것을 민족과 국가의 차별화 전략으로 이용하고 있다. 이런 시점에서 이 글은 제주여성문화사의 연구물을 중심으로 해서 지역 여성문화의 연구 의미, 연구 동향, 현황과 과제 등을 개괄적으로 논의하고 있다. 제주여성문화사 관련 연구물로는 사진자료집, 구술자료집, 무형문화재여성의 생애사, 제주여성들의 적극적인 혼이 담긴 여성문화, 제주여성들의 삶과 공간이야기, 여성유적. 제주여성사료집, 제주여성사 등이 있다. 지역 여성문화 연구의 의미는 문화의 정체성 찾기, 전승 요소 찾아서 계승하기 등이며, 전국의 자치단체가 여러 가지 목적으로 여성사 정립을 시도하고 있다. 이를 위해서는 충분한 예산과, 연구 기간은 물론, 적정한 연구자의 확보가 중요하다. 지역 여성문화 연구 목적은 여성의 정체성 찾기, 여성의 사회적 위치 확인 등이며 이를 현대여성의 삶에 투영시키는 것이라 본다. 물론 연구 주제와 범위에 따라 다르겠지만 각 지역의 여성들이 만들어낸 문화, 그들이 만들지는 않았지만 그들의 목소리가 들어가서 전승되는 문화 등을 찾아내고 귀감으로 삼으려는 목적이 있기 때문에 여성문화 연구의 의미가 있는 것이다. 따라서 이 연구에서는 역사적으로 서서히 축적되고 전승되는 지역 여성 문화 연구를 바탕으로 해서 여성정책을 수립하는 것이 바람직하다는 전망을 제언하고 있다.

영문 초록

Recently, tracing blood has been done to prove their identity by country and region all over the world. This has been also used as a strategy of ethnic and national differentiation. This paper is to discuss research meanings and trends, and present conditions and problems on a regional woman culture centering around the findings of the cultural history of Jeju women in general. The findings on the cultural history of Jeju women are as follows: photo material, oral material. women s stories with intangible cultural assets, the woman culture with Jeju women s positive spirit, stories of Jeju woman s life and space, historical material for Jeju women, the history of Jeju women, and so on. To research a regional woman culture means to prove cultural identity and to uphold the tradition, so that local autonomous communities are trying to establish the history of women for various purposes. It matters to ensure a sufficient budget and research period, and proper researchers. The research aim of a regional woman is seen to prove women s identity, to identify the social status of women, and to reflect it on the life of modern women. Thus, the research of woman culture means to discover the culture each regional woman has made and the culture inherited in the voice if she has not, and to follow it as a good example. Consequently, this paper proposes that it is desirable to plan out a policy for women based on the research of regional woman culture conserved and handed down gradually.
