『용재총화』의 문학적 텍스트에 나타난 혼종성과 맥락화

국문 초록

이 논문은 『용재총화』의 문학적 텍스트를 중심으로, 다양한 각편들이 함께 편집됨으로 인해 야기되는 해석의 양상을 연구한다. 본고는 『용재총화』의 각편들 사이에 맥락화가 이루어진다고 보고, 해당 기호가 원래 있던 맥락에서 떨어져 나와(분리) 다른 맥락에 속하게 되면서(연결) 일어나는 현상들에 관해 논의한다. 맥락화가 일어나면 각편의 해석에서는 중요하지 않다고 생각되는 요소들의 중요성이 부각되기도 하고 중요한 것처럼 생각되던 요소가 덜 중요하게 생각될 수도 있다. 『용재총화』의 각편을 새롭게 맥락화하면서 읽을 때 긍정이나 부정의 평가가 비로소 생성되거나, 평가 결과가 달라질 수 있다. 평가가 달라지지는 않더라도, 이야기를 통해 생성되는 느낌이 미묘하게 변하기도 한다. 인물의 행동이나 말에 부여하는 심각성이나 무게가 달라지기 때문이다. 본고에서는 각각의 양상을 주체의 모호성, 평가의 다변화, 경중의 뒤섞임으로 나누어 설명한다. 맥락화는 유사하지 않는 것, 이질적이고 혼종적인 것을 유사하고 질서정연한 것 으로 읽으려는 노력의 산물이다. 그렇지만 맥락화가 일어남으로 해서 『용재총화』는 서로 다른 방식으로 이합집산을 거듭하게 된다. 『용재총화』를 정적인 분류학적 시각에서 각편을 분류하려고 할 때 항상 포착되지 않는 각편들이 생길 수밖에 없다. 결국 잡록으로서 『용재총화』는 잡다한 대상들에 대해 서술하는 텍스트일 뿐 아니라, 여러 경계들을 가로지면서 기존 언어로 포착하기 어려운 대상, 평가, 미학을 생성하는 해석의 매트릭스이기도 하다.

영문 초록

This paper focuses on the literary texts of Yongjaechonghwa and analyzes the interpretation patterns caused by the compilation of various angles. This paper reports the contextualization takes place between several texts and discusses the phenomena that occur when a sign is separated from its original context and belongs to a different context. When contextualization occurs, the importance of elements that are not considered important in the interpretation of each aspect may be emphasized, and the elements that seem important may be less important. When reading individual works with a new context, evaluation of affirmation or negation may not be produced or the evaluation result may be changed. Although the evaluation does not change, the feelings generated through the story change subtly. This is because the severity and weight of the persons actions or words change. In this paper, each aspect is divided into subject ambiguity, evaluation diversification and mix of heavy and light. Contextualization is the product of efforts to read dissimilar, heterogeneous, and hybrid things in a sim ilar and orderly way. However, with contextualization taking place, Yongjaechonghwa repeats gathering and breaking in different ways. Because of this dynamic and flexibility, there are angles that are not always captured when trying to classify angles in a static taxonom ic view . Yongjaechonghwa is a matrix of interpretations that create objects, evaluations, and aesthetics that traverse the boundaries and are difficult to capture in existing languages.
