국문 초록

현대인들은 많은 위기 상황에 노출되어 있다. 국가와 민족 간의 분쟁과 테러 상황, 가속화되는 자연재해에 의해 전 세계인의 생존과 정신적 가치의 붕괴 위험을 초래하고 있다. 본 연구는 황석영 소설 『바리데기』를 통해 다양한 감정을 분석하여 작가가 제시하고자 했던 인간 본연을 확인하고, 현대사회의 심각한 위기에 대처해고자 한다. 인간은 세상의 모든 생물 가운데 가장 감정적이다. 인간의 다양한 감정은 개인적 의미의 산물이면서 동시에 우리 삶의 사건과 조건들에 의미를 부여한다. 감정의 조절은 우리가 살아가는 공동 사회의 삶의 질을 높이고, 보다 안정적 삶을 살아가게 할 것이다. 주인공 바리는 그녀의 의지와 상관없이 처해진 상황에 의해 북한에서 중국으로, 중국에서 영국으로 삶의 터전을 이동하게 된다. 이러한 상황에 따른 이동과 고통스런 삶의 여정은 바리의 불안과 안도, 희망, 슬픔 등의 근원적인 감정을 가지게 하고, 극적 상황에서 표출하게 한다. 바리가 가지는 불안 등의 감정은 근원적 본능이나 욕망 때문에 표출되는 것이고 이에 대한 연구는 현재와 미래에 걸치는 우리 삶에 대해 성찰의 자세를 견지하게 한다.

영문 초록

Modern people are exposed to many crisis situations. Conflicts between nations and peoples, terrorist situations and accelerated natural disasters are causing the survival of people around the world and the collapse of spiritual values. This study tries to analyze various emotions through Hwang Seok-young’s novel ‘Baridegi’ to identify the human nature that the author wanted to present and to cope with twhe serious crisis in modern society. Humans are the most emotional of all creatures in the world. Human emotions are products of personal meaning and at the same time attach meaning to events and conditions in our lives. Control of emotions will improve the quality of life in our community and lead a more stable life. The main character, Bari, is moved from North Korea to China and from China to Britain by circumstances that are carried out regardless of her will. The migration and painful journey of life under these circumstances lead to the underlying emotions of Bari’s anxiety, relief, hope, and sadness, and to express themselves in dramatic situations. Bari’s anxiety and other emotions are expressed because of his fundamental instincts or desires, and his research keeps him reflective about our lives now and in the future.
