국문 초록

이 논문은 다산과 주희의 천명해석을 비교하여 다산 천명관의 특징을 검토한 것이다. 주희는 사서의 집대성자로 기존의 여러 사서에 관한 학설을 종합하였다. 이러한 의도는 노불의 사상에 대한 방어라고 할 수 있다. 다산 또한 사서에 대한 많은 주석서를 남기며 기존의 여러 사상에 대해 비판적인 입장을 취하는데 주희도 그 중 하나였다. 천명은 유가에서 인성론과 우주론의 시작이라고 할 수 있다. 따라서 천명에 대한 두 사람의 비교는 인성론과 우주론을 바라보는 시각의 차이를 볼 수 있을 것이다. 다산 천명관의 특징은 3가지로 요약된다. 첫째, 다산은 천명을 리로 보지 않았다. 다산은 리 대신에 더 적극적인 의미의 상제를 도입한다. 둘째, 다산은 천명을 ‘낙선치악’하는 기호로 정의한다. 이는 인간의 성이 선을 좋아하고 악을 미워할 수 있는 경향성을 가지고 있음을 의미한다. 셋째, 다산의 천명은 오직 인간에게만 부여된다. 다산은 도덕적인 행위를 가능하게 하는 천명은 오직 인간에게만 부여될 수 있다고 말한다. 결론적으로 다산의 천명관은 인간의 주체성을 긍정하고 인간 스스로가 도덕행위를 판단하는 가능성을 열어주었다.

영문 초록

This paper reviewed the characteristics of Dasan Heaven’s order(天命) by comparing and analyzing the analysis of Heaven’order of Dasan and Zhu Hui(朱熹) in the Saseo(四書). Zhu Hui is a generalist of the Saseo, and he synthesized the theories on the various existing Saseo. This intention can be said to be a defense against the idea of the Buddhism and Taoism. Dasan also leaves many notes on the Saseo and is critical of many existing ideas. Especially when it comes to heaven’s order, they look different. Heaven’order is the beginning of the theory of character and cosmology in Confucianism. Therefore, the two men s view of Heaven’s order may see a difference between their views on personality theory and cosmology. The characteristics of the Dasan Heaver’order view are summarized in three ways. First, Dasan didn t see Heaver’s order as Li(理). Dasan uses a more active meaning of Sangje(上帝) instead of Li. Second, Dasan defines Heaven as a to prefer good and shame bad(樂善恥惡)‘ preference. This means that human nature has a tendency to like good and hate evil. Third, Dasan s Heaven’s order is granted only to humans. Dasan says that the Heaven’s order that enables moral conduct can only be granted to humans. In conclusion, Dasan s Heaver’s order has opened the door to the possibility that human beings themselves can judge moral behavior by affirming human identity.
