영문 초록

Korean dust events are observed at 28 observatories in South Korea. KDD (Korean dust days) are defined as the average of the number of days which Korean dust events occurred for a month and updated on monthly basis from the Korean Meteorological Administration. The objective of this study is to examine the temporal change of distribution of KDD. For this study, we used KDD data for a period of 40 years (September in 1973 to August in 2013). Interdecadal variations of KDD were examined based on basic statistics of distributions of weighted month. As a result, the change amount was 1.123 months during 30 years. In addition, the Gumbel type smallest value distributions were considered as a distribution of weighted month for parametric approach. According to the interdecadal variation and 10-year moving-windowing, the location parameter is decreasing and the scale parameter is increasing gradually.
