보건ㆍ복지 전공 대학생의 문화적 민감성, 공감력, 자기효능감의 관계

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 문화적 역량과 관련하여 보건ㆍ복지를 전공하는 대학생의 문화적 민감성, 공감력, 자기효능감의 정도를 탐색하기 위함이다. 연구 방법은 서술적 조사연구로 보건ㆍ복지를 전공하는 대학생을 대상으로 설문을 하였으며 총 257명의 설문지가 최종 분석에 이용되었다. 문화적 민감성 정도는 106.65±9.81점, 공감력의 정도는 100.09±11.65점, 자기효능감은 40.28±7.79점이었다. 대상자의 문화적 민감성 정도는 공감력 및 자기효능감과 유의한 순 상관관계에 있었으며, 공감력과 자기효능감도 매우 유의한 순 상관관계가 있었다. 보건ㆍ복지를 전공하는 대학생의 문화적 민감성과 인과관계를 가지는 요인을 다중회귀분석으로 분석한 결과 다문화 교육의 중요성이 대두된다고 하지만 다문화 교육이 문화적 민감성을 높이는 요인으로 작용하고 있지 못하고(t=1.63, p=0.11) 오히려 공감(t=5.27, p<.0001), 자기효능감(t=4.20, p<.0001)의 개별적 요인이 관계가 있는 것으로 드러났다. 따라서, 문화적 역량을 증진시키기 자기효능감을 병행하여야 하며, 공감력과 자기효능감을 증대시켜 학생들의 문화적 민감성을 높여 문화적 역량을 증대시킬 수 있을 것이다. 이에 본 연구는 보건ㆍ복지를 전공하는 대학생의 문화적 민감성 공감, 자기효능감을 살펴보아 향후 문화적 역량을 증진시키기 위한 교육 프로그램 개발에 기초자료를 제공하고 나아가 전체 대학생의 사회 기초역량으로서의 문화적 역량이 시스템적인 차원에서 논의되어야 할 필요성을 제기하고자 한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to explore the degree of cultural sensitivity, empathy and self-efficacy in undergraduate health and social welfare students with regard to cultural competence. For the purpose of this study, the survey was conducted with undergraduate students majoring in health and social welfare. Among collected data for this study, data for 257 students were analyzed. The results showed that cultural sensitivity of health and social welfare students was middle range (106.65±9.81). There was a significant positive correlation between cultural sensitivity and empathy and self-efficacy. In order to explore factors influencing cultural sensitivity of health and social welfare students, we analysed a multiple regression analysis. The significant factors influencing cultural sensitivity of health and social welfare students were empathy, self-efficacy at 5% significance level. There four factors explained 22.03% of the variance in cultural sensitivity by using multiple regression analysis with stepwise selection method. Here is this study contention that with increasing phenomenon of multi-cultural trends, the need for cultural competence is now more prevalent. therefore it is now clear that attention must be given to developing appropriate support system and establishing effective program to promote cultural competence in society general.
