학습자극 계열위치와 학습자극-검사자극의 양상유형 및 양상일치가 재인수행에 미치는 효과

국문 초록

본 연구는 학습자극 양상(청각 vs. 시각), 검사자극 양상(시각 vs. 청각), 그리고 자극 제시의 계열위치(1-7)를 체계적으로 변화시킨 후, 학습자극이 단일양상으로 제공된 경우(실험 1)와 학습자극이 중복양상으로 제공된 경우(실험2)에 실험참가자들이 보이는 단어재인에서의 차이를 비교하기 위해 수행되었다. 본 연구의 결과들은 종합하여 요약하면, (1) 학습자극의 양상이나 학습자극의 양상 중복성 여부와는 상관없이 재인과제에서 계열위치 효과가 반응시간과 오류율 모두에서 관찰되었고, (2) 검사자극이 시각양상인 경우에 비해 청각양상인 경우에 전반적으로 더 빠른 반응시간을 보이는 반면, 반응 오류율에는 이러한 양상효과가 역전되었으며, (3) 특히 검사자극이 청각양상인 경우 자극의 계열위치가 4-5번째부터 반응시간과 오류율이 더 가파르게 감소하는 경향이 관찰되었다.

영문 초록

This study aims to examine the effects of serial position of study stimulus, study-test modality types and modality-matching between verbal study-test stimuli on observer’s recognition performance. For this purpose, modalities both of study and test words and serial positions of the words were systematically varied in the single-modality conditions (Experiment 1) and modality redundancy condition (Experiment 2). The results showed the followings. First, strong serial position effects of study stimuli both on reaction time and error rates were found regardless of modality types of study stimuli or modality-matching between study and test stimuli. Second, auditory test stimuli induced faster reaction time but higher error rates than visual test stimuli. Third, particularly for the auditory test words, reaction time decreased steeply from 4th or 5th to the last words, indicating strong recency effects.
