학대피해노인의 심리ㆍ정서적 특성에 관한 질적 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 우리나라 학대피해노인의 심리ㆍ정서적 특성을 질적 연구 방법을 통해 분석하고 그 개념을 구조화하는데 목적이 있다. 자료 수집은 전국 노인보호전문기관의 상담원에게 학대피해노인과의 상담과정에서 경험한 자신의 생각과 느낌을 4가지 영역의 개방형 질문을 통해 기술(description)하도록 하였다. 자료수집 기간은 2007년 6월 11일부터 8월 3일까지이며 총52명의 상담원이 참여하였다. 수집된 자료 분석은 콜라지의 현상학적 방법에 입각하여 다음과 같은 결과를 제시하였다. 첫째, 학대피해노인 개인의 심리ㆍ정서적 특성은 21개 개념, 9개 하위범주가 도출되어 이를 “위험 수위의 심리ㆍ정서 상태”로 범주화하였다. 둘째 학대피해노인이 가족관계에서 보이는 심리ㆍ정서적 특성은 21개 개념, 6개 하위범주가 도출되어 이를 “증폭되는 단절감”으로 범주화하였다. 셋째, 학대피해노인이 이웃 또는 친구 관계에서 보이는 심리ㆍ정서적 특성은 17개 개념, 4개 하위범주가 도출되어, 이를 “더 안으로 고립함”으로 범주화하였다. 넷째, 학대피해노인의 심리ㆍ정서적 강점 특성은 17개 개념, 4개 하위범주가 도출되어 이를 “인내하며 기대함”으로 범주화하였다. 끝으로 4개 범주간의 상호관계성을 노인학대와 연계하여 설명하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this research was to analyse and systematize the concept of psycho-emotional characteristics of abused elders in Korea. A qualitative research method was used to elicit the perception of counselors engaged in Elder Protection Agency throughout the nation. Data were collected using open-ended questionnaires from June 11 to Aug. 3, 2007. A total of 52 counselors were participated in this study. A phenomenological research method of Colaizzi was used to analyse qualitative data, and finally came up with following achievements: First, we extracted 21 concepts and 9 sub-categories, and then categorized them to “Psycho-Emotional State in Dangerous Level” from the analysis of the psycho-emotional factors of individual abused elders. Second, in terms of the psycho-emotional characteristics of abused elders in family relationships, we extracted 21 concepts and 6 sub-categories, and then categorized them to “Amplified Sense of Isolation”. Third, with regard to the psycho-emotional characteristics of abused elders in relationships with friends and neighbors, we extracted 17 concepts and 4 sub-categories, and made a third category called “Further helplessness”. Fourth, we extracted 17 concepts and 4 sub-categories from psycho-emotional strength characteristics of abused elders, and categorized it to “Endure and Anticipate”. As a result, a model of inter-relationship of above 4 categories in connection with elder abuse was presented.
