재가노인과 시설노인의 일상생활활동정도와 건강관련 삶의 질과의 관련성 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 재가노인과 시설노인의 일상생활활동정도와 건강관련 삶의 질과의 관계를 비교, 분석하기 위해 시도된 서술적 상관관계연구이다. 자료 수집은 재가노인 90명, 시설노인 104명을 대상으로 하여 2008년 3월 2일부터 6월 10일까지 설문조사를 하였으며 수집된 자료는 SPSS WIN 12.0을 이용하여 빈도, 백분율, 평균, 표준편차, t-test, ANCOVA 및 pearson correlation coefficient로 분석 하였다. 본 연구의 주요 결과에서는 시설노인이 재가노인보다 일상생활활동이 더 의존적이고 건강관련 삶의 질이 더 낮은 것으로 나타났으며 노인의 일반적 특성에 따른 건강관련 삶의 질과의 관계를 알아 본 결과에서는 재가노인은 배우자의 유무, 교육 상태에서 유의한 차이를 보였고, 시설노인은 배우자 유무, 교육 상태에서 유의한 차이를 나타냈다. 일상생활활동정도와 건강관련 삶의 질과의 상관관계는 재가노인 및 시설노인 모두에서 강한 역상관관계를 보였다.

영문 초록

This study was to compare and analyze activity of daily living(ADL)state and health-related quality of life(HRQOL) between the elderly in home and in institution. Subjects were 194 elderly, who were 90 elderly dwelling in their own homes and 104 institutionalized elderly. Data was collected from March 2 to June 10, 2008, and were analyzed by the SPSS WIN program. The results of this are summarized as follows: 1) ADL levels of elderly in institution showed statistically significant higher scores than that of elderly in home(t=6.543, p=.000). 2) HRQOL levels of elderly in home showed statistically significant higher scores than that of elderly in institution(t=4.587, p=.000). 3) According to the general characteristics of the homing and institutionalized elderly, HRQOL levels of the homing elderly was significantly different according to presence or absence of spouses(t=2.595, p=.016), education level(F=6.510, p=.003), and the institutionalized elderly was significantly different according to gender(t=6733, p=.013). 4) There was a significant negative correlations were revealed between ADL and HRQOL in the homing and institutionalized elderly. Thus there is a need to understand them in the physical, emotional, and social function and provide them with proper nursing interventions to enhance QOL in homing and in institution elderly.
