연관성 분석에서 표준화 향상도의 개선 방안 연구

국문 초록

데이터마이닝의 연관성 분석에서 연관 규칙을 평가할 수 있는 측도 중 하나로 향상도가 중요하게 이용되고 있다. 향상도는 두 가지 이상의 아이템 거래 사이의 관계를 나타내 주는데 값 자체만으로는 연관 규칙간의 상대적 비교가 어려운 단점이 있다. McNicholas et al.(2008)은 상대적 비교가 가능한 표준화 향상도를 제안하였지만 음의 관계를 갖는 향상도를 표현하는데 적절하지 않은 문제점이 있다. 이런 문제점을 해결하기 위해 Choi, Lee(2014)는 수정 표준화 향상도를 제안하였는데 이 또한 음의 연관에서 양의 연관으로 값이 변할 때 수정 표준화 향상도 값이 급격하게 변하는 문제점이 있었다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 향상도가 무상관일 때 0의 값을 갖고 -1에서 +1의 범위에서 고르게 분포하여 직관적인 해석이 쉬운 새로운 표준화 향상도를 제안하였다. 데이터를 통하여 새로운 표준화 향상도와 선행연구에서 제안된 표준화 향상도를 비교 설명하고 본 연구에서 제안된 표준화 향상도의 효율성을 확인하였다.

영문 초록

Lift is one of the important measures for assessing association rules in data mining. Lift shows association between more than two groups of items. However it has difficulty to compare the values of lift from different groups of items directly. McNicholas et al. (2008) proposed standardized lift for solving the problem of comparison of lift values. However negative lift values could not be standardized properly. Choi, Lee (2014) suggested modified standardized lift to resolve negative lift value issue. It also has a problem of discontinuity when the lift value is changed from negative to positive. Therefore we proposed new standardized lift which has zero value for independent relationship and occupies the scale from -1 to +1 based on negative or positive relationship. Association between items can be understood directly through the value. Numerical example and simulation study have been done for showing effectiveness of the proposed standardized lift.
